I don't see the issue with this. This is a good thing. As electric cars start coming in the gas stations will add lanes for charging.

Why would anyone be against this?

The privileged few who were early adopters of Tesla S and X models, Tesla pays for them. All the other drives pay themselves.

I figure recharge times are quite long especially depending on kwh of the battery.
This creates a captive consumer in a Walmart sized store.

I agree. I tried to get one of those EV Ford trucks but they rejected me.

Agreed….I keeping people in the store longer is a winning proposition for them!

I'm like the dude in the article. About four or five months ago I wrote Buc-ee's and tried to convince them they needed EV chargers. I told them they were the perfect place for somebody hang out, spend money for the 45 minutes it takes to charge an EV. I never heard a thing back from them.
