What policies would you enact?

For me, I would draft the Articles of Confederation but outlaw internal trade/movement barriers as well as provide city-state status to any city that exceeds a population that outnumbers the rest of the state (excluding other big cities in that count).

First off. Issue a directive that abortion would be strictly forbidden. Children would be viewed as a treasure, not an inconvenient disposable botheration. Resources would be allocated in the new country and used towards strengthening and supporting the traditional family unit. Fathers with children would be given first preference in jobs. Motherhood would be treated as a noble institution. Our mothers afforded the respect of a grateful nation.

The elderly would be held in the highest esteem. So much so young people would be taught to stand up when an elderly person(s) entered the room. Our veterans would be afforded the best care available and honored as national heroes. As part of Civic Lesson Curriculum veterans would be invited to speak to High Schoolers, Civic Clubs, and such.

LGBT activism and efforts to peddle homosexuality, gender neutrality (aka LGBT agenda) as normal and healthy would be strictly forbidden. Anyone engaged in LGBT Activity would be expelled from the country. Anyone found guilty of sexually abusing children would be hanged. People who subject children to sex change efforts would be expelled from the country. Zero tolerance.

The government of this new country would adopt a "Citizens First" initiative. This initiative would include setting up fully funded IRA Accounts for each citizen in the country. The use of the revenue from the sale of natural resources from public lands would go towards funding those IRA's for its citizens. Among other benefits.

The proposals I make deal mostly with the cultural and social changes in this "New Republic". As is applies to the structure of the new government my proposals can best be defined as "decentralization of power" As in return power to the states. The government we have now is nearly impossible to administer. Governments within government is what we have now.

That'll do for starters.

I would just buy a small island, equip it with defenses, and live as a hermit.

Too many freaks out there who would try to frick up my paradise.

Term limits for Congress.

Some sort of aptitude testing to earn the right to vote.

Christianity as state religion. Albeit with Christian tenets legislated more via regulation than criminalization, where possible.

Constitution with first 12 amendments.

10th Amendment clearer (clear to me, but apparently not to the SCOTUS).

Restrict the necessary and proper and interstate commerce clauses.

Create "veto" mechanism for SCOTUS rulings.

This is an interesting mental exercise. I think everyone has entertained this thought at one point or another.
Whatever policies and laws you authorize, they will evolve into something you never envisioned within about 2 generations at best. What policies could be enacted that would create greater longevity for a republic that doesn't include force? That's the question for me.

No welfare state for able bodied adults who refuse to work. Full time employment should be a requirement to receive any sort of government assistance. If you’re between jobs or your employer cuts your hours to below 40 a week, then you can pickup trash on the side of the road or some other community service to make up the difference in hours if you want to keep your welfare.

Must have been a net taxpayer to vote. If you didn’t pay any income taxes or received a bigger tax refund than you actually paid, no voting. Basically need to have some skin in the game because otherwise takers will just vote for whoever promises the most free shite.

Balanced budget requirement. Government can only spend what it takes in any given year, except in a time of war.

Eliminate the income tax.

And let states raise their revenue necessary for social services.

Disband the standing army.
And rely on standing state guards.

Rewrite the construction in a way that explicitly invalidates most federal bureaucracy.

Require annual literacy and Constitution test and require proof of passage with 90% or better grade in order to vote in any election.

Adopt the first 10 amendments and require they be interpreted plainly and exactly as written.

Abortion illegal

Abolish all forms of welfare

All voting is in person. Anyone incapable of in person voting would be required to prove they are entitled to vote (citizen, no felony’s). Voter fraud would be a capitol offense.

Taxpayer money could not be sent to other countries. That can be handled by charities.

Secure the southern border. Give 60 days for any illegal to leave our country. Any children of illegals (who were born here and are citizens) can remain if parents find a legal resident or citizen to raise them. Or the child can return to their parents country but can return to the US at age 18.

Those are solid.

I would make sure the income tax is abolished.

I would restrict the franchise, if you are on government assistance, voting is suspended until you are not.

In-person voting only, with ID.

A one term limit for all of Congress.

Tight laws to restrict congressmen from making money outside of their salary while in office.

An even more succinctly worded 2nd Amendment to keep firearm ownership out of the government’s business.

No federal law enforcement.

No foreign land ownership.

Sealed borders with immigration laws that are enforced. No immigration by known Muslims or communists.

No residency by any foreign member of the communist party.

I’m not a $$$ minded guy but checks and balances on government spending. Balanced budget, I guess, would accomplish that.

I’d enact the constitution and Bill of Rights, except:

1. the 2nd Amendment would state specifically private citizens right to bear arms shall not be infringed.

2. The First Amendment would specifically state it is intended to protect the church from the state, not the state from the church.

3. Would include an amendment banning additional federal bureaucracy/departments being established past what is established in the original text of the constitution.

4. Would include a clause forbidding the federal government from interfering or influencing education. Education will be reserved to the states.

5. Would include a clause banning a federal income tax and forbid the government to (a) spend more money than it has reserves (b) establishing federal welfare (c) providing foreign aid other than support to an ally in time of war.

6. Include a clause specifically stating that this constitution is set, it’s wording is literal, and the judiciary shall not deviate from it in any way. And no future amendments can be passed to alter it in any way.

7. Add an amendment limiting the right to vote in federal elections to landowning natural born citizens.

8. Add an amendment limiting immigration to 100,000 per year and be open only to those who have (1) a citizen sponsor to vouch for them (2) the means to support themselves and (3) require they denounce any loyalty to their previous country and swear an ist of loyalty to the US and it’s constitution alone. Their citizenship will not include the right to vote, though their children born in the US will have this right.
