This has been a lifesaver for me. You can stand or sit will working. i like to do both.

Go for the roll top desk.

Just don't get caught napping in it...

This is my office setup. Picture is from selling the previous house, but I have the same setup, just in a new house. I don't really need the "executive" looking desk. I just feel like a boss in my own house with it . It was invaluable during covid when working with the rest of the family at home. I will always have a dedicated office while still working.

also just upgraded.

went with a L shaped sit/stand desk

Care to share what you bought? I need an L shaped desk since I have so many dang monitors, and I'd love a sit/stand desk.

I converted the infant’s closet into a standing work station. Just used a wall-mounted work table and drafting chair for when I don’t want to stand. Also ran some LED ribbon for lighting.

Not perfect, but works on days like this where I’m also having to stay back with the kids.

I went from a large, oak desk an chair, to an old recliner with wide arms for my trac ball and a side table for my extra monitor.

You don't need to spend a lot or replicate an office scenario, you just need a place where you can work undisturbed.

Second vote for IKEA butcher block top. You can customize the legs, cabinets, sit/stand the way you want.

It’s cheap but I have had one for 4 years or so now and it’s still in great shape.
