We will be a party of 15. 6 adults and 9 kids, but the kids are older (ages 18-22). Not looking for black tie sort of places, but definitely want something at least somewhat memorable.

Looking at open table to may be out of luck for a party that size in Hawaii. A lot of places have limited party sizes.

Sounds like an awesome trip. I’m doing the same one in May. Looking forward to the Na Pali Coast

For Casual on Kauai we loved Lava lava beach club. Great drinks, good food, great view.

On Kauai we always start our trip with a meal at Duke's in Lihue. I really like the view watching surfers, etc. Maybe if you call ahead they could put together a table outside?

A party of 15 will be tough to do, unless you are creative or are staying at a larger resort with restaurants and work through them. Many places do not take reservations.

I was on Big Island a few weeks ago, and a group of 9 was tough to seat. 45 minute wait at Kona Brewery for example. You may be able to pull off Lava Lava Beach Club up at Waikoloa Beach mid afternoon. It’s memorable because it’s on the beach. Food is just ok and expensive, ditto beverages. No way could you get 15 there for prime time sunset.

If staying at a rental house in Kona town, then you could get creative with takeout.
