Does anyone know if it is open tomorrow. Never been before and I looked at the website for the state park and it says they are closed on Tuesday and Wednesdays. Wasn’t sure what f that meant the trail was closed or just the state park office.

Notice: Clark Creek Natural Area will re-open Friday, March 5, 2021. This park will be open Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It will close on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week until further notice.
Mississippi State Parks appreciates your patience and welcomes you back to this unique park. Remember to bring plenty of water and good hiking shoes!
Hey! Look at the date on that website notice...
It's from 2021
We went a few weekends ago, and everything was wide open.
I'd give them a call - 1.800.GOPARKS or local (601) 888-6040
You could also call the Pond Store that's across the street from the hiking trails, and they'd probably know. (601) 888-4426

I hope it is.
I’m going tomorrow as well. It’s a good 5 mile hike.
We did it last summer and really enjoyed it. The primitive trail is nice. Steep at times and a bit tricky to pick back ip on coming out the creek.
We went counter clockwise last summer

Well shite. I just called that 888 number and the recording said it’s closed Tuesdays and Thursdays

Yeah, I tried calling earlier too but no answer. Don’t want to drive all that way if it isn’t open

Just called the pond store and she said it’s open every day

Same here. Driving from Mandeville is a bit of a drive. If I can’t confirm that it is open, we may just hike bogie chitto. About 5-6 miles I believe. Not as good but it’s something to do outside.

Tunica Hills is near Clark Creek if it is closed. They have some nice trails there.

I went to Clark Creek during Covid and found it closed so we did Tunica Hills. I enjoyed it

We may give Tunica a go. Hunting season should all be wrapped up

Carry plenty of water. Leave enough in the tank to make it back up the hill on the way out. It can be an arse-kicker. Biting gnats can get bad in the Spring, but its still a bit early. Last gas/snacks is the gas station on the Mobil station on Tunica Trace about 15 miles before you get to CC, so plan accordingly.

the weather is perfect for it. Just a heads up, keep an eye on kids if youre bringing any. There are some steep drop offs. Nothing to be too scared of but just dont let them run ahead.

There's also the Pond Store right across the street from the Clark Creek entrance. I always enjoy going in that old place.

Never been, but is there any part of it appropriate for little kids?
Have a 3,5 and 7 year old...obviously not doing anything remotely close to a "real" hike, but is there any part of it accessible where we could take kids to do a little nature walking and picnic without encountering anything rough?
EDIT: To be clear, I'm asking about Clark Creek specifically

You could do some of Tunica Hills with them but I wouldn’t do the whole thing.
There is actually a network of trails at what people call “Tunica Hills” (not talking about Clark Creek).
Clark Creek is much more appropriate for little ones and they’ll love playing in the waterfalls. You can kind of walk the streams as far as you want.

Make sure to keep a picture of the trail map on your phone. Towards the end of last year several large sections of the primitive trail sloughed off taking trail markers down with it- those sections require scrambling through the undergrowth to reach the next portion of the trail and can be a bit tricky. The primitive trail is challenging but worth it! Shouldn't have any issues navigating the improved trail that goes down to the creek bed/water falls.

Can’t speak to the days that they’re closed but my wife took our kids yesterday with a couple of her friends and their kids. Ages ranged from 6-14.

Cool store, but cokes are warm and candy is iffy (last time, all of our chocolate was old and separating).

Hiking tunica hills WMA. Trail A railhead now has 5 vehicles.

Tunica WMA was a nice hike. Easier than Clark’s creek.
I’m a deer Hunter and I’m not sure if I’d hunt this area. I couldn’t imagine dragging a deer up those hills
We did trail C then trail A. Beautiful ridges. Only a few up hikes. Not bad at all
What’s with the 8” pipe run all along trial c ridge?
Found the old homesite or whatever it was along the old road on top of trail A ridge.
Only saw one group passing us in the opposite direction on trail A.
Great day for a hike
