Helicopters always have maintenance. It’s one of the most consuming things keeping them up and current, especially on special and hourly inspections. Most of their aircraft that have battle damage we would have to send back to the states. Let them not keep on maint or inspection and they’ll have a lot more birds down. I’d assume engine wash roughly every 20-30 hrs.

I’ve been up close. They have a limited supply of anything good.

Russia’s MIC is a lot like ours, they need these wars to try out their new stuff and get rid of the old junk so they can create a “need” for the new stuff.
Russia is using this invasion, among other reasons, to dump their crap. But they do have a big load of that crap.
Wonder how many of their Cold War-era tanks are rolling into Ukraine.

A re-watch of Lord Of War with Nick Cage and Jared Leto is a good primer for today’s world events.

Yes
And how many major programs have we canceled over the last 30 years? Think of the Crusader, the Comanche, and the FCS.

Quite interesting that all unit markings,Bort numbers and national insignia et cetera have been spray painted out on the aircraft. Definitely had a nice fire going at 1 time cause you can see two of the rotor blades are pretty charred/damaged on the underside, l/h engine cowling is heat damaged and the left hand outboard pylon/countermeasures mount is missing/destroyed.

If you really knew how bad Russian technology is and how much they don't have you wouldn't think that. This is like Les Miles saving his play book while getting his but whipped against a lower ranked team.

B52's are 60 years old.
Add 10, they were introduced in 52 and will remain in service for the foreseeable future. The BUFF is 70 and may work until 100.

Go look up the new Defiant X and tell me where do you think we got the inspiration for it?? Obviously ours is better and more advanced, but it looks to me like we are did a little spying ourselves.
You really think that coaxial rotors are something the US has to spy on to develop? The technology has been around since the 30s and 40s. We had drones in the 60s using them.

The Sikorsky/Boeing entry for FVL is just a build-on to the S-69 (from the 70s), X2, and most recently the S-97. It’s nothing new. US aerospace firms are way out ahead of any competitor.

Embarrassing if so

Mi-24 Hind or a variant of..first flight 1969. That SA-11 Gadfly must have either been moving/reloading or in the process of setting up/non operational because no way a Hind should have been able to get close enough to hit it with rockets. It's engagement range is between 2 and 26 miles and radar search range is up to 87 miles.
