I use Techron. Mechanic told me 20 years ago thats what to use and I still use it on occasion. Usually once a year when I am going on a long trip. Does it work? I have no clue

I don’t think you need any fuel treatment, if you are using brand name gasoline. If using no-name I would probably use some Berryman or sea foam.

Squeeze your girlfriend's tit boil discharge into the tank every time you fill up.

Using gas with high-quality additive packages is really prevention not cure. In that vain for most people in the South the easy answer is run predominately Shell or Chevron gas only using non-Top Tier fuel when necessary. Doing that with most engines and most duty cycles will prevent ever needing a cure.

There are several decent "cures" available but Seafoam is the one you will see more people swear by and I have had good luck with it in the past. My mom had a car in the late 90's early 00's and because she drove like a grandmother I had to throw some Seafoam in it and drive it at slightly higher than interstate speed for 15 minutes to remove the carbon. It would run fine for another year or so.
