????????? ??????????
@ZelenskyyUa
Russian occupation forces are trying to seize the #Chornobyl_NPP. Our defenders are giving their lives so that the tragedy of 1986 will not be repeated. Reported this to
@SwedishPM
. This is a declaration of war against the whole of Europe.

OK, this sounds like bullshite.

Breaking the sarcophagus irradiates large areas of Europe again and widens the exclusion zone in Ukraine, meaning that they don’t get to take advantage of the areas they have conquered.

If they are doing this, it means they are intentionally trying to stay WWIII.

Should be pretty easy to take over. That place is deserted.

Probably not a bad tactic. Like invading through the Ardennes. No one would expect it.

Chernobyl is shut down and in the process of being decommissioned. It has almost zero value.

Let the Russians camp out in the Zone of Alienation for a couple of months, will save the Ukrainians some bullets.

No one expects it simply because any troops going through there are dead men walking after a long enough time.

I've been thinking this is just the place a tyrant like Putin will put Ukrainian political dissidents.

This report almost certainly tells me that someone OTHER than Russia is going to blow up Chernobyl as a false flag

Exactly. I'm sure Vlad doesn't care about those troops' well-being. It's a pretty smart tactic, IMHO.

It also means any weapons or vehicles going with them are likely a total loss.

Probably easier to abandon them than decontaminate them.

I don't think the contamination is that bad. Hell, people still live in the area.

Depends on the area involved. The Red Forest is supposed to be really bad.

Pryapat is less of a problem as long as you don’t go trying on the firefighters’ gear in the hospital basement.

Corrections - Reports from Advisor to the Ukrainian Interior Ministry that Russian armed forces entered the Chernobyl Nuclear Plant zone and that fighting has broken out and issued a warning that it could lead to the destruction of a nuclear waste storage facility.

It's not. There are scientists, residents that never left, etc. that live in the area. The real contaminated areas are the red forest.

They are going to fire this bad boy up to blanket the radio frequencies the world over, again.

Haven't they been selling tickets to go sight see that location?

Russian troops were sighted in the Chernobyl restriction zone last night (US time), early morning (Ukrainian time). The zone is expansive.

It might have just been a really good place to land knowing there wouldn't be a lot of civilians and probably not a lot of Ukrainian military.

Well at least they would have a reason to leave them behind. We left equipment in Afghanistan for no other reason than just saying it was cheaper than getting them out
