That makes sense to me.
Liberty is American, and America is a growing market for F1, but above all else the US proved to be a massive revenue source for multinationals through the pandemic.
Vegas would also be attractive to the rich Asian market as well.

I'm not sure how much sustainability Miami has. If the track isn't amazing then 2-3 years might be all it gets. They have a 10 year contract, but not sure that is guaranteed

Culturally and economically, I think it’s the most desirable host in the US. There’s a lot of money in Miami, and it’s an international city that appeals to Europeans.

The article I read failed to mention that Pirelli brought a different set of compounds this year. I thought that the article offered poor analysis, that's why I didn't bother linking to it, and this just confirms that it was a crap article.

It might just be a red herring anyway. I do think teams went through tires much faster than they anticipated. Which may take a few weeks to figure out and even longer to solve since tire selections are done weeks in advance.

Completely different set of compounds. They brought the 3 hardest to Bahrain.

Was reported last year that F1 wanted 3 races in the US. I’d bet it would be San Diego or LA. East, Central, West.

This is great news to me. The worst thing for me is one-pit-stop races. The best is when teams decide on a mix of two and three pit stops.
BTW, I looked at the data for total pit lane time at the recent tracks, and I ordered them from shortest to longest. Bahrain was right in the middle at about 24s. Jeddah is among the quickest at 21s, so I hope that encourages more pit stops this weekend. Those tracks with 28-30s pit lanes are dogs!

For the DTS crowd, a little history. Las Vegas is the location of one of the most infamous venues in F1 history. Two F1 races were run at a track built in the parking lot of Caesars Palace.
It's as bad as it sounds. This video provides some nice historical details:

I have zero clue on the feasibility of it but just imagine a 1-1.25 mile straight down the Las Vegas Strip flying by some of the hotels, I am sure F1 would love that visual. I would imagine the whales would head to Vegas for that race, somewhat of a Monaco like experience.

I'd rather see them race on a real track versus another street circuit. Problem is most all road courses would need massive changes to appease F1.
Watkins Glen being back on the schedule would be great, but I can't imagine how many changes they would require.
Road America has flat out said they have zero interest in trying to draw F1.

on kevin clark's podcast they were saying the vegas circuit would go right through the strip. would be pretty cool.

@HaasF1Team gained a whopping 185,000 new social media followers this past weekend, so about 6% of its current total following came onboard just in recent days, per
@Zoomph
.
The American audience tweeting about @F1 during the weekend was up 23% YOY, per Zoomph's analysis

Haas needs to use those metrics to get some sponsors.
And Steiner needs to quit saying he's surprised how well they did at Bahrain. True or not, it doesn't sound good to sponsors.
As far as this weekend, K Mag has not been able to get on the stimulator so has no practice at all on the track as he didn't run it last year. He's watched a lot of in car vids instead. (They never heard of iRacing or Asseto Corsa?)
Hopefully he's really good at learning tracks, but I expect a bit of a drop off, at least in Q, this week simply due being behind all the other drivers in experience at Jeddah.

Does Jeddah just seem dangerous to anybody else?
Don’t know what it is but it seems sketchy.
I know it’s not safe to a Yemeni..
