Exactly. When Fauci said masks werent needed, and were essentially a security blanket - they were completely ineffective.
Later on, when he reversed his mask stance, and proposed up to three masks for protection - they were still completely ineffective.
Now, he's come full circle and has admitted that the cloth masks are completely useless, guess what? They are still as ineffective as they always were.
The science hasnt changed, the politics have. And leftists are too proud and too stupid to admit it.

They've realized for a long time we were right. They keep the mandates for exactly one reason.
