So LSU is currently in 7th place where they were predicted to be prior to season starting. They have beaten a number of ranked teams and have had a rash of injuries most importantly their senior PG. And there are people asking for Wade, who has turned this program around, to be fired. The logic is amazing. I am not saying Wade is above criticism for some things but demanding he be replaced is ludicrous. This team when 100% healthy can beat anyone on any given night. 2-3 games we win with entire team. Yes offense need to get better. Yes defense needs to get better. Yes Gaines needs to reduce turnovers. Yes Pinson being out contributes to all of this.

They are playing bad basketball right now. There is no sugar coating it. They aren’t even playing good defense anymore. Losing to Ole Miss and Vandy is inexcusable.

I love Will Wade and I am not calling for him to be fired but we need to start questioning some things. I still think this team has a run in them but they have to figure it out soon. They are currently playing themselves out of the tournament.

Simply not true. You lose your Sr PG and your team just coincidentally goes into a funk? Cmon people

We are not playing ourselves out of the tournament. There’s still lots of basketball left. We are hurting our seed but all you have to do is get in the dance.

I bet you thought Auburn and Kentucky should question their coaches last year, huh?

Wade getting fired is crazy

But every year when I see his recruiting classes, I think LSU is turning into a basketball school. But they always seem to fall short of taking that next step .

Losing OOC 50/50 games, and then dropping games like this year to Ole Miss & Vandy. Who is getting better on this team? What has been his plan when he doesn’t have his ideal roster?

As of right now my expectations of this team are not very high. Of course we miss Pinson, but some here are making him out to be Magic Johnson. Wade has demonstrated he has no Plan B and no idea what to do. Not having Pinson is no reason whatsoever to have been blown out by TCU,Ole Miss and Vanderbilt. All season long our team has shown a propensity to fall behind double digits in the first half. Wade has done nothing to rectify this.

Hopefully things will come together in 2022-23.

They've lost 6 out of 7. Good teams do not lose 6 out of 7 games. The team does not look like a tourney team at this point.

The optimism is great, but this team is ABSOLUTELY playing themselves out of the tournament right now. They have lost 6 of their last 7, with the one win being a late come back, at HOME, vs. a very average A&M team. Even more concerning is that the defense, which was keeping LSU in games despite the season long offensive struggles, has completely collapsed. LSU is not only losing, they are being controlled from start to finish by average to well below average teams. TCU, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt aren't offensive juggernauts. They are all sub-100 offensive teams. Yet, they shredded LSU's (then) #1 defense. LSU's only avenue for success this season was through their great defense. Over the course of the last 4-5 games that avenue has disappeared.

Can they right the ship over the last 8 games? Sure. Anything is possible. But you have your head in the sand if you don't realize this team is completely collapsing before your eyes.

Pinson was plan B. That's what the vast majority of this board does not understand.

Miller was your guy. He goes down. Now Pinson is your guy. He goes down. Now you're thrusting a kid who should be in highschool into the lineup.

You’re reaching here. We are in a 5 or 6 way tie for 7th place (mizzou is 1/2 game back) and we’ve lost to 3 out of the 4 teams we’ve played in the bottom half of the conference and looked terrible in those games. If we don’t straighten this out quick we could be looking at a 11-13 seed in the SEC tournament. MSU, UGA & USC are must win games.

Look, I've been as bullish on this team as any poster on here. But there is no denying that we look AWFUL as of late. Previously I said if we could just go 2-0 this past week against bottom feeders in the league, we would position ourselves to make a run. That is now not the case. Whether you want to admit or not this team is drowning, and the tide keeps rolling in. I'm not saying we miss the tourney, but will wade needs to understand that the expectations have risen. When perennial football powers like bama and auburn take that next step in your own league, it's hard not question why not us.

That's what I've said all along. Once we lost Miller, we had ZERO tolerance for further backcourt injuries. Pinson goes down, and here we are.

There's still time to make the tournament. Hell, we are still 16 in the NET.

Shouldn't happen. Have the talent to win.

Hard to get better when you're being asked to do things you normally aren't asked to do.

15-1 with wins over Auburn and Tennessee.

Even if that make the tournament the way they are playing right now they won't win the first game. Get Pinson healthy, work on fundamentals (shooting, rebounding, guarding the FRICKING 3, foul shots, etc). Gut check time.

Absolutely NOBODY is getting better currently. But I will give you a positive...from what I saw Sat Reid did some nice things with his inside move to the goal with the bucket. But it's not consistent.

They are tied for 7th with 4 other teams. They have lost to two of those teams so 9th?....and falling.

Yea except Auburn blew LSU out & the rest of the OOC slate has done nothing to prepare them for the SEC

There was very little effort Sat especially in first half. Inexcusable given the losing streak they on.

If your team is going to play like utter garbage because you lose ONE player, then something is very wrong.

The fact that you think we aren't playing ourselves out of the tourney after losing 6/7 says it all.

On top of that, yeah, Auburn and Kentucky's coached are comparable to Wade. When you start piling up deep runs and final fours, there is more slack given. Wade hasn't even scared those at LSU.
