Is it worth the hype??

Yep, and apparently Active Target is better than Garmin atm. Supposedly before summer Garmin is releasing an updated version tho

The garmin update has been released and it’s legit

I've been looking at the ice fishing bundle just for the portability so that I can take it from my boat to a buddy's. I may pull the trigger this week after I look at some videos on making a transducer mount that is also portable.

quote:I have seen no side by side reviews saying this. All have scored Livescope higher. AT has basically one advantage, and that's clarity, but you give up detail. The new Livescope update brings clarity in, but there are a lot of negative reviews on this update. I have not used my system since updating, and will not fully know if I like it until May, as I beat banks with a fork until the fish move out to tops post spawn.

I’m picking my new boat up this week, I’ll keep you posted.

Tye ones I've seen give distance and c l clarity to Active Target due to the smaller cone angle. Josh Jones is vocal about Lowrance over Garmin

YES ABSOLUTELY BEST ON THE MARKET!!! LOOK A YOUTUBE VIDEOS IN COMPARISON . BEE HAVING ONE FOR 3 YEARS NOW ! IT'S ALMOST CHEATING ! BUT IT STILL DONT MAKE THEM BITE!

Definitely worth the hype but it will also humble you while making you a better fisherman in my opinion. Seeing fish and not being able to catch them is more frustrating, but seeing how the fish react to baits and techniques is very very helpful. I primarily Bass and Crappie fish with mine.

my favorite way to catch sac-a-lait

Absolutely. It will be frustrating when you can literally see your bait an inch from the fish's mouth and he turns the other way. Like mentioned above, its cheating but it wont make them bite.

Only cheating in that you don't have to guess where the fish. Using livescope, you know where they are.
I guess cheating would be using a net.

watching the MLF events going on in North Louisiana live last few days and it's absolutely a game changer...

Absolutely. If you like catching crappie, it makes it so much easier.
For bass fishing, once you learn it and learn what fish look like, it is a difference maker. Just this past weekend on Toledo I caught several fish off of stumps that you could not see with the naked eye because of Livescope. I could see more and more fish showing up on the stumps as the day went on. It is awesome.

I work with Livescope, active target, and mega live every week. Livescope is still king IMO. We use it to chase suspended bass on Toledo and catch fish roaming open water chasing Shad. It’s also useful for fishing brushpiles and stumps with bass hanging around them. I can throw an Arig past a pile and lift it up to swim it as close to the brush as possible without hanging it up.it’s worth every penny to me.
