How do the top NIL deals compare to starting NFL salaries?

I'm wondering if this whole NIL situation might reverse the early departure trend.
Heck, seems like one of the only things separating colleges from the NFL is the limited years of eligibility.

They don't compare at all. Kids are getting $100k per year. League min is $660k for a rookie

Great, give an 18-20 year old $100K and see how things work out if he does not go to NFL and then has to get a real job.

Well in the NFL you get a salary AND can still get NIL deals so I don’t see the trend stopping.

You’re gonna see kids being targeted when they go out. An 18 year who has $100k now isn’t going to be able to control himself. Jealous people will go after them.

I wonder how many of these kids and their families understand that they’ll be responsible for paying taxes on NIL money.

Yes. 3 years in college minimum. It's been that way for a long time.

2 - their federal/state governments are going to take another slick 30% of dat income.

Teams like Texas A&M will make sure of that. Dumbo threw a hissy fit yesterday talking about it. After an 8-4 season, they put together the greatest recruiting class of ALL-TIME. Yeah, right !

They compare similarly, probably even favorably, to practice squad deals though.

Also, there are no NFL team "boosters" who just want to pay players so they can have access if they are not superstars.

Most NIL deals so far at LSU are for less than $100K per kid.

Yes but they do get some endorsement money and the rookie minimum is 660k. Assuming we aren’t even discussing the early round draft picks that will have salaries in the millions. If someone is a lower tiered draft pick I don’t think there are a lot of NIL deals worth 660K for one year of service for them.

That's up to the NFL. I don't think they have any motivation to change the rule at this point.

Wealthy college students across the country are getting 100K from their parents all the time (totally unearned)and we're not worried about them. I'm fine if college students that don't come from money have an opportunity to earn 100K with their talent. If they blow it, it's none of our concern. It's their money.
