Buddah fitting

Decided to get fit for the driver that is right for me and my swing - - have heard Buddah is the man to see.
Thoughts? Anyone ever had driver fitting? Worth it? How did it help your game?
*Edit* After weighing all the feedback ( good and bad) I decided to schedule a driver fitting. I tend to have a steep approach and I generate way too much spin. I know these are aspects of my swing that are mechanically corrected but I suspect some trace of that signature will always be present. I’m not long off the tee but I swing hard… so, we’ll see what he has to say and what he puts me in. I’ll post an honest review and the results… thanks
*Edit Post-Fitting* As promised, I am posting my experience with my scheduled driver fitting today. My appointment began on time and Budda was very professional. He listened to what my objective was in getting fitted and understood what I was looking for. I let it be known from the get-go that I knew a good game is a combination of practice, coaching, and good equipment and that I had no problem buying whatever he felt would best suit me. After some time on the monitor with my driver, he advised that my driver was likely a little too long for me and too heavy. However - - and this is the sign of an honest guy - - he advised that I needed to work with my coach a bit more before getting a custom fitted driver. He recognized and pointed out some flaws in my swing that are causing me to lose and/or not generate the power I want. Therefore, to that end, he advised that "sure, he could sell me a $600 driver and let me enjoy a honeymoon period" but in reality, until I corrected these swing flaws, the objectives I told him I wanted would not be met. So, here is a guy - - who if it was all about money, could have jammed me up for a fitting fee and a new custom driver - - but instead told me that a custom fit is not in my best interest right now. He did offer to re-weight and cut down my current driver ( which I let him do) advising that as I continue to work with my coach, these slight changes in my current driver will help me develop a more consistent swing. So, all in all...I see this as evidence of an honest guy who genuinely wants his customers to improve their game.

I could do a better fitting over the phone. Don’t waste your money.

I’ll see if I can find it. Thanks

Budda was well regarded here until a thread a few months ago. I don’t remember what the end result of it was, but he hasn’t had the same rep here since.

I went to Buddha for many things over time. I went to club champion a few months ago and did a full bag fitting. They said he did a great job of fitting me. The best they could do was get six yards more on my ping 410 and not as tight of dispersion. I really wanted a new 3 wood. They couldn’t beat what he fit me in. I did buy new irons from them.

Done irons and driver fittings though Buddha. Super satisfied each time

TLDR version:
Guy gets fit. Spends a few weeks on the fence over a couple different iron sets. Picks one. Buddha gives him a delivery window. Guy changes his mind again a few days later. But Buddha had already worked to secure heads to build from the rep instead of using the vendor. It was an under the table deal. Buddha wasn’t honest about it. Guy contacts rep/vendor and gets his money back.
No complaints of the fit itself or the fitting process. Buddha got caught doing a side deal. Indecisive guy came here to complain. Buddha made an account and tried to explain himself. Most people believed the guy. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

This.
I do believe Buddha avoided the vendor which would bring warranty into question for me. I would have no issues getting him to fit me, though. Just wouldn’t buy thru him.

Congrats on your new Mizunos

I did a driver fitting with him a year ago and have no regrets. I hit every new driver head that was out there and tried multiple shafts. I didn’t feel like he steered me into any particular club head or shaft. It’s all based on the numbers and feel, not very complicated. I ended up picking a driver head that was marginally shorter than others I tested but had better spin and dispersion. The issue with my game isn’t the clubs, it’s not playing enough.

Have all the new heads came out yet? Wouldn't trust Buddah as he has changed his course a few times. Club Champion usually has more components available or try to find a demo day

I’ve been fitted twice with Buddha and will go back when I need new clubs down the road. I’ve been very pleased.

I thought Buddha was far better than Leitz for an actual fitting. Not even comparable really
Also I never once even touched a Mizuno for what it’s worth

I have had 3 fittings with Buddha. Driver, Putter and irons. Not once has he ever pushed a specific brand on me. For my driver and iron fittings, he talked me out of a new head and we focused on shafts and loft/lie/swing-weight for irons. He works fast and his builds are quality. I trust him implicitly with anything fitting related.

I've had a driver fitting and an iron fitting with Buddha. I was very happy both times and will go back for future fitting needs. He'll have you try a ton of different shafts and heads and take the time to explain things and find what works best for you. Don't let one guys bad experience be the only factor in your decision.

People talk shite on here about Buddha not wanting to give the guy his money back after ordering but have you ever tried to get a refund from club champion. I had trouble getting one the same day after I got fitted.

Ben at club champion is the best fitter in the state and it isn’t close. He fits lsu players and is a world class builder- fitter!

Out of the entire situation, this was the petty thing to bitch about, IMO.
Authenticity and warranty thru Mizzy were my biggest red flags. If I go thru Buddha, I’m going to ask to be there when he puts the order in.

I have custom fitted Irons from Buddha.
Fantastic experience I’d highly recommend and I’ll go back eventually for a driver. I’d recommend him to anyone for a fitting.
I also took two lessons from him and they were the worst lessons I’ve ever taken in any area of anything in my life and I wouldn’t recommend him as a teacher to anyone.
