Always thought he was a really good coach. I mean he got a team with Crapernick to the super bowl. Don’t think Payton could even pull that off. Maybe he could do something with crab legs or Hill.

His winning percentage is actually higher than Payton.

This is an individual that if given the job would probably divorce me from being a life-long Saints fan

and people believe that culture fit is important.

Was Saban a culture fit? Was Miles? Was Dale Brown? Was Paul Mainieri?

Sean Payton is from a suburb of Chicago and spent a big chunk of his early career in the Midwest and Northeast. "Culture fit" is a stupid talking point

That might matter some in college, but does not in the pro game….

Jim
Made 3 straight nfccg. Impressive.

Payton had 3 but scattered.

3 in 4 years and took over a team with a losing record. But everyone is happy with a coach with a losing record in all 3 of his years? He left SF after butting heads with T Balke who Leftwich is refusing to coach in Jax unless he’s gone.

Lots of downvotes here but I guess most of you don’t understand statistics I guess….

Yes out coached us in that 2013 playoff game. I thought we were more talented.
