Glad the ice storms missing us I hate those damn things.
Dont count those chickens too soon but hopefully it's more or less just snow up your way.

Will this affect the shipment of fitted N95 masks?

I got every model hitting on it and most ensemble members. Placement tricky but DFW certainly looks to be near the middle of the shite. Houston fine. SA probably fine. Austin probably gets some ice.

Lost power once 18 days from an ice storm. Nothing like the length of time people on the coast experience but it was bad enough.
Fingers crossed its just snow we are in a bad drought and need the moisture... not the icy kind.
Hopefully TX and everyone misses the ice storm too and just get rain.

Not again
This isnt likely to produce last year type impacts unless youre in the bullseye of the freezing rain.

We're in the path of the heaviest snow and quite frankly its welcome. The snowblower has been sitting in the garage unused for 2 years and I'm tired of looking at the brown landscape. It'll be a good test of their new virtual learning plan so they don't have to make up snow days.

I'm working in Amarillo next week so this should be interesting if it holds true. High 25 low of 6 with precipitation on Wed.

I'll be in Amarillo on Saturday

Looks like local news has us down as an “alert day” for Thursday due to the rain to snow changeover. We’re supposed to be 50s the couple days before so hopefully it won’t be too bad.

So NTX is escaping this one? I don’t know if I can spend another 3 days thawing our water heater with a blow dryer and breaking up the ice in our pool. My hands are still recovering.

Unlikely the metroplex misses impacts.

ECMWF doesnt show a difference in rain/ice but thats an icy run for most of Texas based on the temps.

Tejas Ice Storm: 2022 Edition

Does not seem likely that it will make it down to Montgomery county. Maybe a few slick spots. Enough to cause people to panic buy and wipe out shelves at HEB. idiots.

For a smaller area it could be much worse though if forecasts hold. I think the area northwest of a Waco to Texarkana line could see 2013 level impacts with over an inch of liquid equivalent with temps in the teens and 20s. Roads will be very bad and power lines could fail across a wide region. I don't think this will be an event that causes rolling blackouts though. Several inches of ice/sleet and some snow to insulate with temps below freezing into early the following week. The trailing storm that is possible over the weekend will only make things worse. Thunderstorms with temps near 20 will be very interesting.

Yep, not looking forward to next week right now.

Certainly. Those ice totals arent pretty along that line you're talking about.

Yeah it doesnt look that cold, below freezing sure, but that last year was ridiculous in terms of how cold it got.

Taking it one system at a time.
