Rebuild? The top teams rebuild every year then. With one and done and transfers all it takes is one year. See Auburn.
Basketball isn’t football. “Rebuilds” can happen overnight.

You lose Eason and Pinson next year. I doubt it it!

Need Reid to become a presence ????

Every year we are a year away! Always young or always rebuilding!

Lose Days and most likely Eason and Pinson (don't see X coming back for another year, but hope I'm wrong. Gain Miller and a stud class coming in, especially if Adams reclassifies like many have said.
PG - Miller
SG - Murray
SF - Wilkinson
PF - O'Neal or Phillips (needs to put on 15 lbs)
C - Reid
Deep bench of Gaines, Williams, Fudge, O'Neal/Phillips, Ree, Adams, Colbert & Ezewiro. (Wouldn't be shocked if one of Colbert & Ezewiro hits the portal - no inside info, just have a feeling one will want more PT)
Get one more sharp shooter to back up Murray and this is a legit Final 4 contender and the deepest and most balanced roster we've ever had.

You'll probably see more roster turnover than expected simply because that is the nature of college sports today.
IMO, the biggest question of whether or not LSU can take the next step to being a truly great program is is Wade is willing to be flexible? So far he has shown he hasn't.
For 4 season Wade never deviated from his defensive approach. This, despite the fact his personnel wasn't suited to execute it at a high level. The result was 4 years of bad to really bad defensive teams. This year the personnel matches up with the approach. It has produced stunningly great results. Unfortunately.....
that same personnel doesn't fit LSU's offensive approach of the last 4 years. As a result, it has produced far and away the worst offensive team of the Wade era. This team just doesn't have the personnel to play an almost exclusively ball screen oriented offense. They just don't have guys who can make a ton of plays on their own.
In each of the last 4 seasons perhaps just some minor adjustments in the style of play on the deficient side of the ball could have paid great dividends. But as it stands, LSU looks to be a team that seemingly can be elite on one side of the ball...but terrible on the other.

With the transfer portal, not a huge deal.
Worst comes to worst, Fudge could slide into the 4. BOth of LSU's commits are 6'8". Phillips could be an immediate starter.
Efton Reid in Y2 could make a nice jump, if he decides to stick it out

college basketball reloads every year
none of what y'all saying makes any sense
2 or 3 of our starting lineup is going to declare for the draft, the most important player and leader of this team Days is not going to be there as well
we will essentially be starting from scratch.... again
and until Wade magically becomes a great X's and O's head coach, nothing will change about LSU basketball, except that there is great talent and a team that's highly competitive but can't get over the hump.... again

Days Is the 4th or 5th best player on the team on a given night. Just depends what Eric Gaines you get

Auburn didn’t make the tournament last year.
What a fricking terrible example, but not a surprising one coming from you.

They were but they also had a losing record

As long as everyone gets back healthy we are a good team this year, idk why anyone's opinion would change about that after Pinson went down and we lost to bamer without Days for 85% of the game.
If you thought we were overrated with Pinson then you still think that, if you thought this team was really
good with him you should still feel that.
He was averaging 11 points and 4.5 assist in SEC play against 3 legit defenses, injuries are part of the game and the offense is mostly flat without him. But I think its okay to acknowledge we are a good bit better with him

While true, they also were 13-14 and 7-11 in conference

Pinson also takes pressure off of Gaines
He also gives us a 3rd quality guard when we have guys in foul trouble.
He isn’t an amazing 3 point shooter but he’s good enough you can’t just let him sit there and take shots

Gaines
He is probably the one who misses a healthy Pinson the most. Pinson could let Gaines be Gaines when they were on the court together.
I love Gaines think he is going to continue to improve and has improved a lot even in this season itself, but damn sometimes he just doesn't need the ball in his hands
