Sources with the Bucs and close to Brady all recognize the star quarterback remains noncommittal to playing beyond this season. Although Brady could decide to play again -- he has talked about playing until he was 45, and even beyond -- it is currently far from a given, sources told ESPN.

Brady, 44, plans to take time after the season ends -- a month or longer -- to assess how he feels physically and mentally while also gauging his family's desires, sources told ESPN.
ESPN
Listening to one of the guys who first reported this, there appears to be a real chance that Brady retires if the Bucs win the Super Bowl.

BS said this weeks ago. I don’t believe he would retire, dosent he want to play till he’s 50?

If they win the Super Bowl, he absolutely should retire.
Go out even more on top.
He’s done enough.

It’s time for Saban to consider the same shite as well

If they lose today there’s no way he retires

He might just be tired of it.

Probably a veiled threat to Bruce for unilaterally deciding to kick AB off the team.

The Bucs are going to lose a lot of players after this year for cap reasons. They would have to reconstruct the roster a little bit to stay championship contenders.

I guess he thought someone stopped talking about him.

AB kicked himself off the team.

It wouldn't have leaked if he hadn't said it to someone "close to him". If he kept it completely private this story isn't out

If he just doesn’t talk to anyone ever, it would never get out!

So the person close to him blabbed his/her mouth off to ESPN. It's no secret that Brady is getting up there in years and that his wife wanted him to retire after he beat the Falcons in Super Bowl LI. Someone he knows probably asked if he was planning on playing in 2022 and Brady was probably like: "I don't know. I'm still trying to decide."
Next year we will have players coming into the league who weren't even alive when Brady won his first Super Bowl with the Patriots.
