Trying to hold out for a buck, but I will undoubtedly blast the first doe that walks out.

Waterproof
In a stand that we usually strictly bow hunt from. Lock on at a pinch 500 yards north of where I hunted the past few days.
22*, slight N Wind
7mm MAG

257, shoot me a text if you get something. I’m in that spot I told you about last night. Saw 2 really solid bucks on my way in. Deer were already up feeding so I waited a little so I could slip in. Before I even pulled my bag up to stand I had 4 cross 15 yards from me. May be radio silent most of the day. This is definitely a spot not to be dicking around on my phone.

Good Luck everyone.

I’m in a lock on on a pine tree in St. Tammany trying to kill this 10pt I’ve been after with my bow. Saw 2 does and a spike early. Quiet for the last hour or so.

Thermometer in my truck said 25. I haven’t gotten cold yet but I’m sure it’s just a matter of time. I really don’t mind the cold to be honest; I just hate bow hunting with a ton of layers. Can’t hear shite because of this beanie and I feel like the Michelin man when I move.

Should’ve gone and sat in a box with a heater. You guys are smarter than me.

You’re a true sportsman, bluemoon. Much respect for grinding it out with a bow. That ten will mean a lot to you when you get him.

don’t give me too much credit. I shot two on my lease with my rifle this year already. I prefer to bowhunt but our lease is pine farm and thicket so it’s really tough if you’re not feeding a ton, and we’ve got pigs so that makes that tough. My deer season at the lease has really sucked regardless though. Timber company cut on us pretty badly and we haven’t been seeing much at all.

I got permission to bowhunt a smaller tract in St. Tammany about halfway through the season. Once I saw what was out here I decided to spend the rest of the season trying to kill that 10pt. This is probably my 7th hunt for him over the last 5ish weeks. Running out of time but if he makes it this year, I’ll be better set up next year.

Leake County
Temperature was 13 degrees in the blind when I got in (late). Very light wind
Model 70 .270

Hunting a road stand, a lot of crossings on this stretch. 5 does already, 2 of which licked corn off the feeder spinner for 10 minutes. No wonder it was empty. Not very big, and I’m hoping to shoot some of the serious number of shite bucks we’ve seen on camera. By Monday, will be to brown it’s down mode.

Old Indian trick to get the grisgris off. Cut a potato in half, rub one half of the potatoe on the gun stock. Put the potatoe back together and bury it under the drip edge of the camp.

Strong medicine there. Use sparingly.
