Signs are everywhere. I can see when the government was handing out money like candy hell who wouldn’t want a years vacation. But now? Obviously a large number of people are not returning to the work force. How are they surviving?

Carjackings are way up in New Orleans.

Lots of the low wage, unskilled labor workers don’t wanna go back. I get it. That work sucks.
However, if you don’t want to do that for the rest of your life then go back to school or pursue a different career path that you enjoy.
The government and rich people don’t owe you more money to do the same unskilled job.

I think some people on the cusp of retirement pre-COVID just decided "frick it, I'm not going back". If not for having shared custody of my 12 year old, I could punch out next year (at 49) and live pretty comfortably at my lake condo. Unfortunately, I have to stay in the city to be with my son, which costs money, so I have to keep working for 6 years until he graduates.

I think people learned how to exist with less cash.
Moved home with parents. Take every gubment penny offered. Take a job and quit after a month. It’s absurd to think how much free stuff people could have collected over the past few years. With no rent and no bills, thousands in cash goes a long way.
There are also plenty of places that provide free stuff with no questions asked. Free food and groceries every week. Free toiletries and clothes. Free internet. Free cell service. Free bus/train passes.

Labor force participation rate was in heavy decline once Obama got into office. Trump gets in and the drop stops and begins to climb back up (until man made Covid struck). Our country was doing so damn well until the globalists struck.
fricking welfare is bankrupting our country. People who are mentally and physically capable are checking out. This world needs something catastrophic to happen to give them a reality check

Its a multi tiered answer as to where has everyone gone.
It is interesting because the labor shortage is across all industries, its not just shite jobs no one wanted. we are talking accounting and finance with the same shortage as a mcdonalds.
First we have a large set of the population that was nearing retirement age. We have an aging population and have had a aging workforce for years. so you see some of the missing labor coming from that subset. Now this would mostly mess with the corporate and say accounting jobs at the very top levels for the most part.
Then you have the population of women that left the workforce to provide child care because daycares/ fricking schools have become absolutely not reliable to be open due to the sniffles. These Woman are more likely in roles that would require in office stuff and they aren't there anymore. How many come back? who knows, people have learned how to spend less and stay home.
Next you have the young generation- college age kids and high school kids. They aren't filling in the low income jobs like you would expect and the basic waiter/waitress jobs. I think this is primarily due to the lack of shame of living with mommy and daddy.
The puzzling piece is the older staff/young management being a vacant part of the labor force- again probably tied to the lack of shame of living with mommy and daddy. People that use to move out and have their own lives now just stay at home and when you live with mom and dad probably no bills, no need for any job.
The first group likely is never coming back at any decent rate.
the second group could fully end up back in the labor force at some point or near it thanks to Biden flation
The third group who knows what they do.
The last group probably comes back at least some what.
I also wouldn't be surprised if of the online economy/ side hustles are actually pulling more and more people in.

It's pretty eerie. Everywhere I've been it's the same.
East coast from New England to South Carolina, Florida panhandle to Houston, Utah through Kansas.
I saw one restaurant in northern Va that had a sign offering daily pay. "Work today - get paid today."
But the gypsies standing on the median and the crackheads sleeping in the bushes weren't interested.
STOP giving to bums.

Simple in Ca. , NY and other cities you just steal stuff less than the amount of felony and fence the items.
But if you are white look out.

The main problem is you HAVE to WORK to get PAID!
This is what the DEMLIBS have created....

This is going to correct itself, but not in a good way.
Interest rates will rise to combat inflation and growth will grind to a halt. Demand for goods and services will decline, as will the need for help.
