Yes. It's your daily affirmation that you have a 0.3% chance of dying from COVID, thus the resistance to getting the VAXXX is working. This is a good thing!

This has been the entirety of Louisiana as far as I can tell for the past year. All up and down 10, up to Shreveport on 49 (the few that exist there) and 20 until you get into Texas. Haven't driven out east on 20 toward Monroe since, but I'd imagine it's the same.

2500 deaths...

There’s usually over 7000 deaths per day in the US...

Do you not find that to be a significant addition?

If you're serious then you should probably get some therapy.

It's like the old Seasame Street song...
One of these things is not the other,
One of these things is not the same...
Temperature
Wind Speed
Relative Humidity
COVID CASES AND DEATHS!

It's fricking moronic! I had my original series of Pfizer in March and then had a booster in October. I'll probably get another booster, if the CDC recommends it. But what the frick does any of this have to do with the weather?

Yes current US covid deaths are in the ~2,000 range per day. Pretty low vs. the number of cases, so that's good, but it's still a lot of people dying.

Did you know that's 0.00000765% of the population?

You have a better chance of dying on a roller coaster.

Now, are those covid deaths because of covid or did those people have covid when they died?

Off by 2 orders of magnitude, it's 0.000765% of the population. And that's a daily rate, which people struggle with because it always looks small. For comparison, the daily heart disease death rate is ~0.0005%. Why did you switch to this angle after realizing that 2500 was single day deaths? Because it looks rather large next to 7000 from all causes?
quote:

Not even in the same universe. Only about 4 or 5 people die on roller coasters per year in the US. Since you like daily rates, that's 0.000000004% of the population per day. The daily covid death rate is 180,000 times higher. More people will die of covid in the next hour than will die on roller coasters in the next decade. Get out of here with that roller coaster bullshite.

People aren't tired of parroting this yet? If you really want to know the answer, all you have to do is look at the all-cause death data. This is the same response people have been giving to this stupidity for nearly two years now, and the data still shows the same thing. Yes, these excess deaths are because of covid. You can try to muddy it all you want with drug/suicide/whatever extra deaths, but the simple fact is that the reported covid deaths are pretty damned accurate.
