Because that is their entertainment for the day. Also I believe that some drivers hang around intersections because they want others to see their cars.

Literally happened to me yesterday. The lady at the front of the line had to check a bunch of lotto tickets. Then she asked for grape flavored swisher sweets.
When they didn't have them, she made the clerk go look for some.
Finally he came back without the grape flavor and she settled for something else.
Took at least four minutes.
And, of course, paid with small bills.
Meanwhile it took the four other people in line less then two minutes to get checked out.

I just go to the ethanol free station for my gas. I'm sure it helps that there is a convenience store a parking lot over. I don't have to deal with poor people if I need to go inside, the pumps are never full, don't get hassled for a few $$$...
Added bonus, only $20 if I need to a quick plug because I don't feel like dealing with that shite.

The 1 gas station in Jennings off the hwy is ground zero for this, and it has some self made vending machine with custom knives and weird stuff for purchase Inside which keeps these zombies starting for seemingly hours

I used to drink energy drinks a lot.
I found myself constantly in-line with people buying vapes, cigarates, lottery tickets.
I'm like, I need to stop drinking these things, apparenlty I'm in a real trashy crowd.

Lotto tickets need a kiosk or its own line. Infuriates me waiting behind these bums all the time.

My favorite is when they pay at the pump.. get in their car and start talking on the phone or digging around for whatever... I witnessed people get into it when a guy started digging around in his trunk after he payed.. Same thing happens at the drive up ATM... People don't give AF about other people's time...

I mean take away all the separate cash transactions and ID requirements, and you’re left with 2 high school dropouts trying to calculate the remainder amount after food, drink, alcohol, and lotto are paid and then transferring that figure over to the correct gas pump.

No clue but you can say the same thing about African Americans and resteraunts of any kind be it drive through or table. They take forever. We eat dinner with my best friend and his wife every month. Same resteraunt, they order the exact same thing and it takes them forever to order.
