I don’t think any of us have seen anything quite like this in our lives. I’m sure that it could be a combination of things, but what do you think is the primary reason?

A) insufficient NIL money
B) a toxic culture created by Orgeron
C) a not “player friendly” enough culture being created by Kelly
D) none of the above (tell us your reason)

Every major program is hemorrhaging players right now. The “transfer anywhere, anytime” rule is the worst rule change to ever be implemented to a major sport in America

I don't think it's one thing. I think it's combination of several things.

* We are seeing a program overhaul from one head coach to another. There will always be churn when that happens. So, that's part of it.
* LSU has sold itself as NFLSU; so, we have higher attrition than most with guys leaving early for the NFL draft. Will be interesting to see how or if that changes under Kelly.
* The fact that this is happening at a time when the NCAA is allowing 1x transfers with immediate eligibility is another factor.
* The new NIL rules is another.
* LSU has the mary jane jail that some of our competitors don't have, which is another factor.

IMO there are a lot of moving parts in CFB right now and even more at LSU because of the turnover. I expect a year from now, the turnover won't be as extreme as it is right now.

We have new standards of accountability that have been long overdue. It will create a “Championship Atmosphere” between and among the players and coaches.

Character building is also one of the main ingredients for developing champions. Coach Brian Kelly’s alignment is in full effect.

“””NFLSU””” has gotten us to below .500 over 2 years and a completely depleted roster, so I definitely hope that cringe Orgeron-era bullshite dies a quick and painful death

This thread is another example how many LSU fans do not have a clue what’s going on in the college football landscape.

Schools all over the country are bleeding players.
NIL has nothing to do with these fringe players. The transfer rule is a freebie now allowing fringe players that would hang around to leave and find playing time immediately without consequence.
This in combination with a terrible football culture and a coaching change is causing the pain.

We have a new coach. Some players won’t have the drive to do things the right way, to work hard on the field and in the classroom.

Those guys need to go somewhere else.

You would have me believe that LSU has lost nothing but “fringe” players? C’mon, man.

LSU is paying the price of a terrible football culture built by players coaches and a totally new regime coming in which is the opposite of what many of these guys are used to.
Plus adding the free transfer rule makes it way easier for these guys to run from a transition.
