If you can’t maintain a 1.8 GPA, that is the players fault and no one else’s.

With all the resources athletes have at colleges, there’s zero reason you can’t maintain academically eligible.

If this is in response to McGlothern, it ain't grades.
You think he's not gonna transfer to another D1 program?

If you can’t get a 2.3 with endless resources, supervision and tutors you really don’t give a shite

Not just him. Emery had the same problem and it’s pathetic. No coach needs to be up a 19/20 year olds arse to maintain a fricking 2.3.

and the classes most athletes take are simplistic. A middle school kid can pass those classes.

To not stay eligible, you either need to absolutely make a monumental effort not to even try, or you simply can't read.

I tend to believe this because it came out weeks ago and was reported that he wasn't going to play in the bowl game and, as we know, that was correct.

This is the unfortunate part of the rebuilding process. You can't make the kids comply with the program requirements. If a kid decides that his pride is more important than getting in line and doing what is required, then as much as you wish differently, they aren't cut out for the program.

I was in the Compliance office recently, it's 1.8 at LSU and most schools.

This is exactly why this program is in the shape it’s in. O had zero structure or discipline and the kids knew they held all of the power. They’ve acted and done whatever they wanted and if they go too far, they’ll just opt out or enter the portal. It will take a year or so to break these shitty habits O glossed over, but BK will get his culture in place. It will happen faster if some of the older players returning next year begin to govern their teammates and establish a better culture.

This kid is obviously unreliable. Kick rocks. LSU will have to suffer through this roster turmoil until a new culture is established. It’s going to take a few years for the stench that O left to get cleansed.

Let's be real some of these "student athletes" are in fact idiots. It's been a while but Rivals used to put ACT scores on the player profiles. It was rare to see above a 22 and some of the highest rated athletes at best had a 19.

And these are sports management, and interdisciplinary studies majors. Obtaining a 1.8 GPA is not hard to do with the Cox student athlete center available.

I’ve always said — if my dumbass can graduate LSU with a 3.01, then anyone can surely graduate LSU with a general studies degree with at least a 2.0.

I remember I put off ENGL 2000 until my last semester because I hated writing. That ended up being one of the easiest As I had. Some of those students were barely literate. I can't fathom being a general studies major and not being able to sleepwalk into a 2.0+. The only way it's possible would be that you're A) dumb as rocks AND B) don't give a shite. Plus, don't they only have to take 12 hours?

Dean Wormer: Where are the other two - Stratton and Schoenstein?
Hoover: We can't find them, sir. We looked everywhere, but-
Dean Wormer: Never mind. Did you boys see your grade point averages yet?
Hoover: They're not posted yet, sir.
Dean Wormer: I've seen them. Mr. Kroger, two C's, two D's and an F - that's a 1.2 grade average. Congratulations, Kroger, you're at the top of the Delta pledge class.
Dean Wormer: Mr. Dorfman.
Flounder: Hellooooo.
Dean Wormer: 0.2. Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son. Mr. Hoover, president of Delta House - 1.6. Four C's and an F. A fine example you set. Daniel Simpson Day has no grade point average. All courses incomplete. Mr. Blu- Mr. Blutarsky. Zero POINT zero. Now I want you to tell Mr. Stratton and Mr. Schoenstein exactly what I'm about to tell you right now.
Hoover: And what's that, sir?
Dean Wormer: You're out! Finished at Faber! Expelled! I want you off this campus at 9:00 Monday morning! And I'm sure you'll be happy to know that I have notified your local draft boards and told them that you are now all, ALL eligible for military service.

I don’t know where he thinks that shite’s gonna fly, but good luck to him if that’s the case. I’ll never understand how kids can’t get their shite together when they’re being given an opportunity millions of kids only dream about. Hopefully CBK will find a few diamonds in the rough in the portal and freshmen and sophs will step up. shite Stingley was a freshman and balled tf out, though that was expected. Let’s pray Welch will do the same if his number’s called.
