Mikelbr,

I knew him as well, although it’s been 10+ years since we spoke. While he was a hot head, he was a really good dude willing to help anyone in need.

As far as him looking for trouble, not sure that’s the case. If you watch the film closely, he doesn’t start to pull back into a punch until the shooter reached for his right hip. I watched it a few times and can’t help but think he didn’t go down swinging trying to defend himself from being shot.

Look at that video closely. He didn’t go in for the hit until the shooter reached for his hip.

I think this shooting proves I’m not racist because I love the fact white hot head got waxed. Although black victim should turn himself in to get his cleared in court of law as well as public opinion. By all accounts here black victim made the world a better place.

So you ok with murder? You can’t shoot and kill someone because they attempted to commit a misdemeanor on you. Please tell me you not this stupid?

He turns himself in, he’s getting charged with murder.

Simple Battery but it doesn’t even appear he landed the punch.

Whatever happened to that realtor from BR that beat up that homeless black guy and killed him? He was a Catholic High guy, it happened about 3 years ago. How did that turn out?

He’s out on bail. He’s been seen out and about drinking at the Bulldog in BR. I’d imagine he takes a plea. There’s no way a preppy looking white dude who is accused of killing a black homeless guy will face an Orleans Parish jury.

first off let me state it is not up to me to decide who is right and who is wrong but what about stand your ground? i would think the shooter will claim he felt threatened and had the right to defend himself.

It depends on who is there to agitate. If there is some advocate for the homeless or black people or even homeless black people - the guy may have to face a jury

Hopefully, he gets a plea deal - although some of the Orleans Parish judges may not let it go that easy

ETA: I have a friend in jail bc of the situation I described.

I don't think he was looking for trouble. I know he was a nice dude and had lots of friends in Baton Rouge and on down the bayou in Houma area and Grand Isle.
I presume they were simply passing each other on the street and had words. And he wasn't one to deescalate a situation. But he certainly didn't deserve to be shot.
