Date/Time of photo:
12 November 2015

Equipment:
OTA : Vixen ED100Sf & Stellarvue SV80ST2 - Mount : Neq6 pro - Camera : Atik 460ex & Atik 460exc - Filters : Baader 7nm Ha - Guiding : Asi 120mc/TS finderscope 50mm

Description:
The Horsehead Nebula (also known as Barnard 33) is a dark nebula in the constellation Orion.[1] The nebula is located just to the south of the star Alnitak, which is farthest east on Orion's Belt, and is part of the much larger Orion Molecular Cloud Complex. The nebula was first recorded in 1888 by Scottish astronomer Williamina Fleming on photographic plate B2312 taken at the Harvard College Observatory. The Horsehead Nebula is approximately 1500 light years from Earth. It is one of the most identifiable nebulae because of the shape of its swirling cloud of dark dust and gases, which bears some resemblance to a horse's head when viewed from Earth.

Excellent image - keep posting.

I did much astrophotography several years ago, but because of some unfortutious events I've lost most the images I made, and lost information about those I was able to recover. I'm not sure of all the data on this one which captured IC434, but I'm pretty sure I used my modified Canon 40D with a 35mm lens and an H-alpha filter tracking on a Celestron CGEM mount. I have no idea as to the camera settings, nor how many images I stacked. Here's the finished product:

I assume that's a long exposure photo from your telescope, and not what you see looking through your telescope with your own eyes?

Your eye cannot take in enough light.

Just because we can't see infrared doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

It's your shitty eyes fault.

Correct 2 mint. exposure

Here's what one photo looks like, i stack 60 of these, along with 30 darks 100 flats and 40 Bias into one .tiff or .fits file then process in Pixel insights.
