Was it at Le Bare on Greenville? In high school I worked in fundraising for a political party. The office was down the road. Le Bare caught on fire and the stripper dudes escaped and were standing out on Greenville.
Oh yeah... The song Freedom was a great tune.

Was LeBar in Deep Ellum? That sounds like the name of the place that we used to go to in the mid 80’s. You could actually get a tab of “X” with your drink. Right before the DEA scheduled it.

Reading through this, I'm actually starting to believe that there's people posting here that thought this guy had talent.
It's rather funny.

Not nearly as funny as you thinking that John Lennon didn't have talent.

You've confused me with someone else.
I don't believe anyone from that generation/era was as talented as John Lennon.

My bad. I saw your post on Imagine not too long ago and thought that you were the same poster saying that he was really overrated in another thread a few days before that.
ETA FWIW, I don't care for Imagine either.

You'd have to be an idiot to think otherwise... I mean whether or not you liked any of his music, you cant deny he had a great voice..

Beautifully written song, but poor messaging.

The fact that he wrote Careless Whisper at 17 pretty much sealed it for me. Solid writer, great singer.
Never owned a single Wham or GM record but still appreciated what he was doing.

Actually there's 3 types of people posting here:
1) trolls
2) majority which think he had talent and appreciate good music
3) minority troll-wanna-be such as yourself who is the only one who thinks that he didn't have talent. I could understand much better if you tell me that you are not a fan and hate his music, but cannot deny the guy had talent.
Are you a Lennon fan? He was a talented songwriter and musician, but I could name 20+ singers that had a better voice than him.

I hate that I’m giving my .02 in a fkn wham thread, but I do have to ask. You’re aware the guy had an insane singing voice correct?
Or are you only familiar with the one song he shakes his arse with the acoustic guitar

Pretty subjective, but carry on with your George Michael appreciation thread.

See? I told you so.
It's like any follow up answer that you give to justify yourself gets stupider by the post, let alone you're starting to look like a real idiot by now.

Cheesy?
To be fair, it was the 80s. Pretty much all the music had a cheese factor.

Nah. Im pretty sure once you go toe to toe with Elton John on the same song it leaves the subjective stage of the conversation
You can argue style, songwriting, etc all you want. But the guy had golden vocal cords
