Ohio State is a good program. Good enough to qualify for national championship games against Florida, LSU and Alabama. Unfortunately, the Buckeyes got punked every time.

Meanwhile, LSU is second only to Alabama in national championships over the last two decades.

Ohio State is a nice little program, though. You should be happy about that.

I’m from alabama, my husband is from Baton Rouge. When we go to visit family I definitely get a different vibe down there. It’s very different from anywhere else in the country, not just the south. I think it says more about YOU that you can’t pick up on that vibe. Guessing you are pretty lame.

It’s hard to explain by writing a post. I guess you just need to experience the two separately to see how different they actually are.

This... Cajun Culture is in the South but its not really "Southern"...

I might add that from my perspective the Cajun Culture shares many of the same values you would typically associate with Southern culture but they are not the same...

The problem is that Ohio State chokes when they face the SEC on the biggest stage. It's okay. Other teams do, also. We're accustomed to it, so we don't think about it much until someone from an inferior conference shows up.

Please tell me you're not an OSU grad. I expected better.

Did they not beat BAMA in CFP senis in 2014 ??? why do you all gloss over that ?? Is that not a big stage ? I will say the 2007 loss to LSU was bad and obviously the Florida game where we came in over confident was worse ,,i knew O$U had no shot last yr against that BAMA team as they shot their wad by waxing Clemson in semis 10 days before ... But SEC wasnt that good at all this yr aside from BAMA Georgia

OSU dropped the ball in QB development/evaluation in 2017, and the rest is CFB history!

Like I said, Ohio State is a nice program. Over the last 52 years, they have 3 national championships. LSU has 3 in the last 18 years. The Buckeyes have a good band, though.

South Louisiana was settled from the coast in by the French and Spanish, the latter of which allowed a variety of immigrants to settle in Louisiana, including may Irish, Germans, and Italians. They were mostly Catholic and eventually nearly all spoke French.

North Louisiana (with the exception of Natchitoches) was settled by Americans moving west from the Carolinas, Georgia, and Virginia. They were mostly Protestant and spoke English.

Even the slave population of the regions was distinctly different, as they mirrored the European settlers.

So yes, Louisiana south of Alexandria is culturally unique compared to the rest of the South. This is why there is an "Upper South", "Lower or Deep South", and "Gulf Coast Region". Baton Rouge does, however, had a bit of influence from the Piney Woods region of Mississippi.

Louisiana doesn't have a lot in common with other southern states AL, MS, GA, AR, TN, KY, etc.

We have different foods. Not as many rednecks. More fishing than hunting. More Catholicism, less Baptist.

LA is more of a northern Caribbean state than a Southern state. Good and bad that it entails.
