As far as his own team is concerned, Wade said the Tigers have been working on perimeter shooting.

LSU started the Auburn game with 13 of its first 18 shots being hoisted from beyond the 3-point arc.

“I told our team we’re 294th in the country in 3-point percentage, so why the hell do we take 13 3s on our first 18 shots?” he said.

“We usually give guys a lot of freedom and I’ve curtailed some of that in some of these workouts. We’ll be a little bit more selective in our 3-point shots.”

It’s a big, big challenge for us,” Wade said. “They’re extremely physical, and, obviously, they’re well-coached by coach Cal. So, it’ll be a big challenge.

“They’re the most physical team we’ve played all year,” he said. “They are physical, physical, physical — especially down low.”

Subtle call out to Efton Reid, time to step up your game.

At this point in his career Reid is way to soft.
Maybe Wade can show him some tapes of Jose Vargas.

Reid needs to stop picking up stupid fouls early in games so he can stay on the floor and get used to the physical play at this level.

He has probably never been on a court with someone as big and as physical as him until last week. Hopefully that was the wake up call he needed.

I do agree he needs to get tougher but I think so do others. Days doesn’t even attempt to be physical down low anymore which is where he has gotten most of his work done the last three years.

Agreed. Efton is a great kid, but he has shown some freshman traits for sure.

Aggressive and handsy up top when he doesn't need to be and soft when he needs to be more aggressive and physical down low.

He needs to grow up fast.

I think he should show him some Ricky Blanton on the way to the Final 4 in 1986. He shut down some strong inside players on some strong teams - including Memphis and Kentucky.

Hopefully they listen to the General and stop banging those lazy arse 3’s that never go in. I’m kind of surprised he hasn’t shut that down earlier. Days needs to get his arse down low and stop trying to be a perimeter player on this team.

You can't fix shooting in a week in most cases but to say it can't be coached at all is false.

I mean it likely won’t drastically improve in-season, but you absolutely can

You can improve footwork which will keep the shooter more balanced, which will improve results.
