Nope. In 2009 we had millions of shovel ready jobs that money was directed to by our government and we spent billions on.

Tennis is out of style because athletic kids play one sport year round. Growing up I played tennis most days in the summer. There was no travel baseball or 7 on 7 football.

I dont know, i have a bunch of little cousins who seem to play 2 or 3 sports year round, at least until they hit high school age.. seems like tennis used to be in that rotation a lot, now not as much.. besides it doesn’t explain why golf has gotten massively popular, even before Tiger came along, while tennis has kind of languished, even though i see WAY more hot women out on the tennis courts than i ever have on the golf course, plus you can actually work up a sweat playing tennis (although same could be said for walking a golf course in the South.)

I like to watch old tv shows and movies.. and back in the 70s and 80s, tennis culture seemed pervasive.. people ate , drank and socialized around the tennis court.. and im old enough to remember a time when some of the most revered men on the planet were avid tennis players; guys like Charlton Heston, Eastwood and Selleck.. Let’s bring it back.

Guess you got me.

You must be more manly than Heston, Eastwood and Selleck.

Singles is definitely more of a workout, but doubles is more fun and social.

Agreed that tennis is a great sport. It is a good workout and you can play it into your 80's.

Tennis is great to watch on TV or live. The US Open is one of the best sporting events I've ever attended.

I'd love to see tennis make a comeback, both as a sport people play and watch.

My friends that used to play tennis prefer pickle ball now. It seems to be the new big thing.

Wish i could give this more than one upvote.. i only took up tennis later in life (late 30s), but I quickly fell in love with it and, when i was playing regularly- not even in a league, just hitting around with buddies a couple times a week- i was in some of the best shape of my life.

I definitely want to attend the US Open one day, actually a friend and i had plans to go in 2020 before the pandemic hit.. but one of the ultimate, top things on my List is to one day go to Wimbledon - as a spectator , not a player lol

i know, it sucks.. a lot of legit tennis courts have been converted to pickleball.. I’ll admit I’ve never played pickleball, but it just seems like a way for people who are too lazy to learn how to play real tennis to feel like they are ‘sort of’ playing a bastardized form of it.

The ones today are even hotter IMO.. Radacanu and Sakari are cute.. but my personal favorite is Donna Vekic
