I was not that excited about BK initially.
And he may completely crap the bed at LSU, but I am excited that things just feel different.

Dude if O can win a championship here so can Kelly and maybe 2-3 before he retires.

So Kelly has won at every level, but he “may crap the bed” at LSU??

Only special LSU fans have this logic.

It’s not unreasonable to question the fit and the jump from recruiting Notre Dame kids to SEC kids and flipping a program culture at his age. I hope he can do it. Good start keeping Walker Howard, Will Campbell, and Welch. Snagging Wiggins was huge.

The close to this class is very important to the future of the program. If we start to slide and Bama, ATM, etc. keep raiding us for top talent, could be rough.

I don’t live with my head in the clouds or with purple and gold glasses on.
There’s no guarantees here. With the portal and NIL we don’t know where this is headed.
You are the “special” one.

Regarding the culture, I wonder how much different BK's culture is from Saban's. That's a common theme right now - BK is not a good "cultural fit" for LSU. How is it different from Saban's? Don't we want a culture of excellence and winning?

I put culture in the same boat as eye test. People don’t talk about either one if you’re winning.

Im not even sure what it means.
Saban does not fit the Bama culture. But he wins so he can tell them to stfu.
If BK wins like that he can do the same.

This is such a ridiculous take
Probably half of ND's roster is from the SEC footprint and most of those kids were 4*
Lots of the kids he recruited where from inner city Catholic/private schools - Lots of the better players in LA attend these types of schools

Saban flipped Bama's culture at 57

No it isn't - the transfer portal is and winning on the field in the fall is

quote:

ATM, etc. keep raiding us

They signed one kid from LA in this class - a freaking RB who is good but not elite and who needs to get out of BR for his own good

Ill put money Matthews doesn't go to A&M

Flipping an entire national championship-level program on its side and starting over is a huge task for a 40 year old, much less a 60 year old, and the 60 year old doing that has spent his whole career on a different side of the country. You’re also dealing with a rabid fanbase that doesn’t tolerate mediocrity.

I will say, if he can do it here, he can do it anywhere.

The coaching searches without the leaks and drama are so refreshing.

You keep posting this to me like it’s some kind of slam, and like I wasn’t saying he needed to be fired this year.

It feels different here in Tuscaloosa as well. Bama fans have through the years respected the talent at LSU but have never respected the coaching. Basically, the take has been that there have been years that we were so talented that the players overcame mediocre coaching. Now the conversation is how they are stunned that Kelly left ND to go to Baton Rouge. I am not saying that they are "shaking in their boots" but they know things are going to be different in the years to come!

Welcome.

You don’t really have a choice but to be positive.

We are goin g to see an upgrade in coaching and culture.

May not win a title. But pretty much like when Holtz raised the flag at South Carolin- high enough for spurrier to see it.

you're right. Those Notre Dame fans never expected to win anything when Kelly took over. No history of winning at his previous school
