Any one fish route 1 lately? I’m going Sunday and will post report.

Haven’t been down there in months, but just make sure you know supplies and services are very limited down there due to the hurricane. So gas up before you get down there and bring bait, tackle and ice with you

Been itching to make a trip down there soon after we smacked them pretty good this time last year. Might go next week once I get back from being offshore tomorrow
Any luck?

Services are still a hit or miss if you are needing room/board etc. Most fast food places not totally destroyed are back open with limited service. Good restaurants are harder to find lol.
But goods , gas/bait/ice/fuel are available.
I have been fishing/camping the Golden Meadow/Fouchon area the last 20+ years.
The local businesses that are open definitely need the business.. safe travels, tight lines … and always drive 5 mph less than posted limit in Golden Meadow.
Yes both Goo’s in Golden Meadow and Terry’s in Leeville are open and usually have live minnows available. Call ahead to be sure.

I went yesterday. Fished Forbidden Hole and then launched at Top Water and fished a redfish pond. Terry has actually been out for a bit. I think he was in the hospital. I havent seen him in a few weeks down there.
I caught one trout lol. A boat near me was pulling in trout in nearly every cast.

Went this morning. 3 reds and two trout on top water. Great conditions until about 930 when South wind picked up and the bite died.
The go bear gas station across from goos bait stand/ tpops mart is the last place open. He was open and selling bait.
Golden Meadow police still doing work so don’t go 51 mph in a 50.

Had to go down for some work in GM last Tuesday so threw the yak in the back of the truck and launched at the pumping station and fished all around catfish lake
Water wasn’t awful but a lot of these large what I call “mud mounds” everywhere, fished for 3 hrs and never got a bite, shite I didn’t even see and bait
Once back at the launch I talked to a couple people they said they had fished the last 2 days throwing shrimp and didn’t catch shite
shite was painful for this time of yr

Before the wind picked up the water was pretty clear and there was bait around. Fished a few spots 2-3 miles east of Morans. Threw my top water at points and cuts in the marsh.

We haven't been down there since April but we smoked them that last time. We're trying to head down there soon.
