Houston doesn’t have the uh…right demographic to support an NHL team, but they’ve got the cash. Stars following is even pretty weak. Thrashers bombed miserably in Atlanta. OKC has minimal interest in hockey (they’ve had a few minor league teams that fizzled out).

Dark horse candidate is probably another Florida team (Orlando, Jacksonville).

Due to shitty ownership and a shitty FO. Attendance was never an issue. An NHL team can thrive here given that it's run right. The demographics are right.

Back in the day when the demographics were more, ahem, Canadian, even having the Howe dynasty playing in the Arena on Southwest Freeway wasn't enough to fill the stadium.

Back then the traffic was miserable and after hour long commutes to and from work, going somewhere at night when you wouldn't get home to midnight and then get up five hours later to leave for work, there wasn't enough caffeine to sustain that model.
