Oh!
Isn’t that what SBD is?

quote:The Pettits (owner of the Admirals) built the Bradley Center to lure NHL to the city. The new franchise cost that the NHL wanted was way too high, and people in the South here don't realize that the Blackhawks are only 1.5 hours away, so the NHL wasn't keen on that idea. They do love their Admirals there, but I don't see it being an NHL city. Bucks, Packers and Brewers are rooted there. Hockey is not.
Milwaukee would be a good place for an NHL team.

quote:LMAO. The Houston Astros have a beautiful retractable roof but close it when the temp hits 75 so they can turn on their air conditioning. So frustrating to watch indoor baseball there when it's a beautiful 75 degree evening.
I’d love to see an NHL arena with a retractable roof. I’m assuming it’s cold enough to support it there

last owner of the Rockets did not want to share arena with NHL or anybody. Tillman Fertitta , the Rockets new owner wants to put a team in Houston. Back in the day use to go see the Houston Aeros in the WHA with my dad.

Not so sure the Falcons issues are because of AB.

Stuff like declaring Julio a “ Falcon for life” and allowing Dimitroff to give out awful contracts haven’t helped.

The people in this thread that actually believe the NHL is going to return to Atlanta made it worth clicking.

Good. The people of Calgary are getting what they voted for.

And if you put the team north of the airport, it would do very well. Say around i-45 and the grand parkway.
Wat? That's a terrible location.

How exactly does that work, considering this person was elected?

It's official: the City's arena deal with the owners of the Calgary Flames has been terminated. The two parties had to agree by late on Dec 31 to proceed to construction and that did not happen. City manager says the deal will not be resurrected. #yyccc

How old is the current arena? By the way, it looks pretty impressive with their skyline in the background.

It was built for the 1988 Calgary Olympics in 1983.

Wow. Didn't realize it was that old. It certainly doesn't look it.

It’s actually the 2nd oldest arena still being used. Madison Square Garden being then oldest (1968). But MSG just went under a billion dollar renovation within the last decade.

Not sure what Canadian laws say about recalls but I would think this would piss off the populace.
