And yet the person who made all these people millions isn’t invited because she thinks it’s not transphobic to refuse to have sex with a chick with a dick and is thus sane.

This looks great. I can't wait to see them all back together again. I know it seemed like they each had trouble finding their identities post Harry Potter, but it really is something they'll be defined by for the rest of their lives. I hope they can really embrace it.

Harry Potter was a huge part of my childhood/teenage years as it was theirs.

I seriously doubt I'll watch it because of the way they shite on JK Rowling but have no problem making money off of her.

This looks really good. Absolutely great idea, though I find it strange that LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring actually was released a month after Sorcerer's Stone, and we got nothing official like this. Not that I heard of. A bunch of Tolkien fans did their own watch parties, Colbert did a lame rap song with the actors who played the 4 Hobbits, but the studio?

Both franchises have lost notable iconic actors. Richard Harris, Alan Rickman and Christopher Lee, come first to mind.

I feel like it’s because HP was more of a coming of age saga that people grew up with hence the extra emotional connection whereas LOTR was just incredibly awesome movie without the emotional audience ties for the most part.

I do find that Lord of the Rings fans are more loyal and smarter than Harry Potter fans. It’s a far more thorough mythology than Harry Potter.

Does Rowling still have total control over the Harry Potter IP or does some corporate monster own it now?

If JK still has control over these sorts of things, I would have told them all to frick off and stop using my Property or lawsuits are a commin.

Certainly can agree to that. Harry Potter is more relatable to many, regarding the coming of age, being the new kid in class, meeting new friends and dealing with teachers … and seeing the kids grow up was its own type of magic as well.

As for the movie themselves , lord of the rings was nominated 30 times for various Academy Awards, and won a staggering 17 times. Harry Potter was nominated about a dozen times over it’s eight movie run, but failed to take home a single statue.

There's no such thing as "a chick with a dick". That's a guy who is demanding the world join in on denying the reality of his genitals just so he can live in his delusion.

A great article on some of the idiotic woke shite flinging:
LINK

The prologue details the incredible challenges Rowling faced getting to where she is today.
quote:

Who was not invited to participate in the Harry Potter 20th anniversary special? Why, the very woman, who in the most difficult of circumstances, and by the power of her own will and invention, brought the entire phenomenon into existence. She was effectively blacklisted from the celebration of what she created while three pretentious and above all blasphemously ungrateful actors held the spotlight, and further — I’m looking for an elegant verb — dumped on the woman who made them. Made them, almost as completely as she made Harry Potter.

The high clerics of woke have declared Rowling anathema. She is a trans heretic. She is, in the gnarly coinage of that community, a TERF (trans-exclusionary radical feminist). Needless to say the bunch that made up that hideous acronym will not be writing books for a world audience.

Apparently Rowling has been making the most outrageous statements, chief of which is the proposition that a biological man cannot be a biological woman. And the vice is also the versa. The backlash has been intense and extremely ugly. She has been viciously assailed on the Twitter stream. She has had death threats and has had her home address posted .

But she holds her own. She does not bend. Last year when certain authorities began promoting the phrase “people who menstruate” as a replacement for a term familiar since the birth of language and the emergence of conscious life (that would be “woman”), Rowling mocked it. Which is the only both correct and necessary response to these faddish idiocies. Very recently — you will find this hard to believe — when the Scottish police issued a guidance that rapes could be recorded as being carried out by a woman if the perpetrator “identifies as female,” Rowling gave that lunacy an apt Orwell-inspired response: “War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength. The Penised Individual Who Raped You Is a Woman.”

A brave woman is threatened, hated and tormented by the woke huns of our day. As for Radcliffe, Watson and Grint — brave in the films; ingrates and trendoids out of them.

An invitation was extended to Rowling to participate, but her team determined the archived comments from the writer were adequate, EW has learned. Sources close to the situation say Rowling's statements about trans people and the controversy swirling around them did not play a part in the team's decision.
