Lol, this is just an appetizer, the Real Pain is coming soon with the College Dr. flyover construction/destruction and the I-10 widening epic project.

TRAFFIC ALERT: I-12 W/B between Airline and Juban is still moving very slow due to two accidents earlier, and DOTD doing an emergency concrete repair...They say the concrete took longer to dry than they thought!

Kind of a loaded question. The easy answer is yes but one could say the same about virtually any agency under the auspices of Louisiana government. They are all incompetent. It's like trying to pick out the dumbest kid on the short bus.

But how many have their own joke, one that has survived for at least thirty yeares?

What's yellow and black and sleeps twelve?

A NOLA Sewage and Water Board truck.

Going to suck during construction. But they have been needing to do this for a long time and I am not complaining that they are finally doing something about it.

I get on the interstate at Millerville, the work I saw them all standing around and staring at was at Airline. Unless there was some other work before Millerville they had all of that blocked for one small section.

The 4-ish car wreck/fender-bender near the end of the Millerville on-reamp just added to the cluster-frickery. So glad the Metro Council decided to approve the apartment complex at the Greens so we can have another 100+ vehicles competing for that onramp in the mornings.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Just wait until I-10 is shut down to one lane during rush hour. They are talking about changing all state workers to 4 days 10 hours a week just to try to alleviate some of it.

They said they would keep 2 lanes in either direction open during the day. Did that change? Or is this just more propaganda from the anti-infrastructure crowd?

Lol, I bet you’re fun at parties. I’m sure if DOTD pinky promised to keep 2 lanes open during the day, then everything will be fine.

There is definitely a group that is fighting highway improvements. And they do spread a lot of factually inaccurate nonsense in the local papers.

I would trust LADOTD and their contractors over that group when it comes to project specifics.

Okay, for the record, I’m not a card-carrying member of the secret cabal opposed to highway improvements that’s spreading anti-infrastructure propaganda by posting insidious comments on message boards.

In fact, I’m pro-infrastructure. I wish they were making it 6 lanes either way and building a loop.

I’m just not looking forward to years of construction on I-10, and based on past experience, I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be a clusterfrick. But I’ll be glad when it’s done, happy to have it be at least 4 lanes.

Possibly, but looking for a competent one is like trying to find the shady side of the sun.
