Seriously, I’m as hyped as I get for LSU Athletics. I love the football team and have high hopes. What is a realistic expectation in this first year? Will we lose a bad one like to UAB or an ugly one to Troy St?? Will we go 11-1 and make the playoffs? What is realistic?

It’s definitely a rebuild.

I've learned over the last 3 years that literally anything is possible. So I don't know how to answer this question.

Prepare for a rebuild but a chance to be better than most think.

It’s a rebuild but we will still be better than this year imo. I think 8 wins is realistic, maybe even 9

8-4. I would be elated with 9-3

I think that’s where I am, lsusteve. I’m hoping to see signs on the field that we can tone down the party and play better football. Long shot and possibly settled but, if Brennan reverses course the expectations go higher

I think we hope for a 10 win season but a 9-4 season seems like a result we should be content with. 7-8 wins should be the floor but it also depends on those intangibles like injuries, portal pickups, etc.

Yes

It’s a cultural rebuild

If BK is able to close strong with this recruiting class, and by that I mean getting all the not miss players (so most likely not signing 25) and hit the transfer portal, the 2023 season will look good. But 2022 is most likely 7-5 / 8-4…anything better is major momentum for 23

I think 8 wins would be a realistic expectation. Any more than that is lagniappe.

It'll be a "rebuild" as in I'm not expecting a 10-11 win season or anything his first year. But we won't be getting run off the field by UCLA, Kentucky, and Ole Miss, and should win more than 6 games for sure. 8-4, 9-3 as an optimist, and competitive in losses, play more disciplined and organized (no more burning at least 2-3 TOs per game because you can't get the play in, fewer breakdowns in the secondary, etc) and carry momentum into year 2. That's what I expect at least.

8-9 wins should be the floor for this team. There are still too many variables and positions to fill to fully make a assumption. The foundation had to be reset though.

Rebuilding is what we were supposed to be doing after 2019; we're now at an overhaul.

Depends on the definition. Will we lose more than the last 2 years? No.

Will we compete for a championship? Also no.

The culture needs to be rebuilt. That will take at least one full year under BK
