Max Johnson reached his potential early

With his Dad being a NFL QB, he reached his potential early. It was impressive what he did in the Florida game last year etc., but sadly that is his peak, no amount of coaching is going to make him more mobile or have a stronger arm.

This is a stupid thread and you should feel bad about it.

I will only add that the backwards throw against UCLA was the beginning of the end.

It really wasn't impressive. His stats weren't great, he overthrew passes throwing off his back foot, etc. This game is remembered so differently without the shoe penalty and 57 yard FG to win.

Ehh. I remember Anthony Jennings having one good throw against Arkansas and everyone creamed. Max has been one of the better passers in the Miles/O era except for Burrow and Mettenberger, maybe Etling. He is not bad, just on a bad team.

Honestly, I think his play shows regression over his time here.
He won't be any better elsewhere unless he is behind a 5 star offensive line unit giving him 10 seconds to throw

He has not reached his potential skills-wise.

Does he get drafted on the first 5 rounds? I say absolutely not

Kid got zero development at LSU. Follows in a long line of strong young leaders that our swag culture, good old boy network ruined.

Or he hasn't reached his potential at all.. possibly due to poor coaching and a bad offensive line.

It's going to be the longest off-season ever.

I don't think it's crazy to say that he won't get drafted in the first 5 rounds
That doesn't mean he can't develop into a really good college QB though.

Max Johnson, with a good qb coach, could develop to be a really good quarterback at his next stop. People here forget he has plenty of time left and hasn’t had shite for a qb coach. If LSU fans continue to expect Burrow-level play from our QBs, they will always be disappointed.

Let’s see how he does where he ends up. Noodle gonna noodle arm

Is his QB coach going to make him more athletic? Or be able to throw a 40 yard pass without it rainmaking to the sky?
