The nation’s large and diverse group of Hispanic voters is showing signs of dividing its support between Democrats and Republicans more evenly than in recent elections, a new Wall Street Journal poll finds, a troubling development for the Democratic Party, which has long counted on outsize Hispanic support.

One year after giving Democratic House candidates more than 60% of their vote, according to polls at the time, the Journal survey found that Hispanic voters are evenly split in their choice for Congress. Asked which party they would back if the election were today, 37% of Hispanic voters said they would support the Republican congressional candidate and 37% said they would favor the Democrat, with 22% undecided.

Hispanic voters were also evenly divided when asked about a hypothetical rematch in 2024 of the last presidential contenders, with 44% saying they would back President Biden and 43% supporting former President Donald Trump. In 2020, Mr. Biden won 63% support among Hispanic voters, nearly 30 points more than Mr. Trump, according to AP VoteCast, a large survey of the presidential electorate.

“Latinos are more and more becoming swing voters.…They’re a swing vote that we’re going to have to fight for,’’ said Democratic pollster John Anzalone, whose company conducted The Wall Street Journal Poll along with the firm of Republican pollster Tony Fabrizio.

Spanish culture tends to be conservative in many areas, at least those not infested with Marxists.

One thing I've noticed living in the Mecca of Hispanicdom is that the new age 2nd/3rd generation hispanics will tend to lean left while the older, 1st/2nd gen are true conservatives.

And once the dems lose this vote their entire "browning of America" plan goes to shite. No more counting down to a white minority anymore because it won't make any difference.

Maybe they should cheer for higher birth rates among white leftist females...the demographic most against children and child birth...

DeSantis or Trump needs to select a strong conservative Hispanic VP running mate.

Democrats will be stuck with Kamala.

It’s why I’ve never been all that concerned about Hispanics because culturally they more align with the Right than the Left. They’d come around once they figured out that the Left actually wants to destroy the country they crawled through glass to get here.

It is not hispanics that are the problem, specifically ones that came here from Mexico. It is their children that are growing up entitled and without the killer work ethic

More about the man (sometimes woman though rarely) than the politics. They are drawn to strong, charismatic personalities that vow to fight for them. This can lead to abuse of power due to the lack of established democratic institutions there.
