Where or why are there not more former LSU players in coaching?

Just curious…

What former players are coaches that we don’t employ?

Cause they go to the league and become millionaires and don’t want the grind of having to start from the bottom.

You know if I made millions in the NFL I’d definitely throw myself at a career that starts with long hours, low pay, and time away from family

I know Trev Faulk coaches at the high school level. Kevin Faulk is a coach at LSU. Those are just off the top of my head.

Consider this, coaches are usually lesser talented players. The more talented players your program has, the less likely one of them is going to transition to coaching, and even less likely that the coach will rise to prominence.

Saban went to Kent St, Urban Meyer went to Cincinnati. Who was most successful as a player and a coach, maybe Steve Spurrier who won the Heisman trophy?

Kevin Faulk and Raymond are it I think

I know what Op means we don't have near the coaching tree like OU, Texas Tech, UGA, Bama etc thay are successful coaches elsewhere coming home.

Because typically smart players become coaches and LSU doesn't typically recruit smart players.
