Naw man. He was hired last week and has made zero public recruiting appearances. It's a little bit weird.
I mean, maybe he's playing 4D chess or something, but getting out and meeting recruits is a pretty big part of the job and not something that's usually done on the down low.

Let me get this straight...we are now melting over the new coach of LSU using the last available in-home visit with Quency Wiggins on the day prior to the start of LSU's big recruiting weekend that just happens to be the weekend leading up to ESD.
Oh the horror, oh the horror.
Looks more like Bargain Bin Billy shot his load early.
ETA: NCAA Dead period begins at 12:01 am December 13, 2021, so the last available in-home visit with Quency Wiggins prior to ESD, not just the big recruiting weekend.

The frick we aren’t? This man just got a 100 million dollar contract. If he blows his first class it will be a pretty big indictment on Kelly.

I'm not melting at all. Just raising, or seconding, concerns. I'm especially not melting as it relates to Wiggins home visit, but he's not the only recruit we're supposed to be trying to land. And he could go to Madison prep without burning his home visit.
Kelly is obviously doing things his way, but I do find it strange that there has been next to no news of anything relating to recruiting with the signing period just a week away.

That's Trevonte Citizen, RB from Lake Charles. Wiggins makes Andre Carter look short. He's massive.

The insecurity level of some LSU fans has now reached the point where we should know everything a coach is doing in order to make them FEEL better

This is a bit dramatic. It'll either be a learning experience to the way things work down here and he'll improve moving forward, or he's doing a lot of work behind the scenes and it'll all work out.

Weird people are so defensive about Kelly's recruiting. We know he can coach, but this was the one area he has been knocked for. And so far he hasn't been as visible as other coaches.

Whitefoot, you were the last post in the thread so I replied to you, but was just commenting on the melting in general.
I think you may be wrong on this. There is a limit on the HC for off-campus (LSU campus) visits with a prospect. You will find that when a HC visits the school he will also go "in-home" the same day and there is a reason for that - NCAA recruiting rules.
Link to practical exam for coaches was removed because the link provides a different test each time same is opened so my reference to See question #2 and answer, applicable NCAA rule is cited in answer was only applicable to the first test I opened. Will find the applicable NCAA rule in Section 13.
The following is the question and answer from the NCAA recruiting rules practical exam:
A visit to a prospective student-athlete's high school, preparatory school or two-year college, or an evaluation at
any site that occurs during a contact period shall constitute a contact (for all prospective student-athletes in that
sport at the educational institution) for that particular week.
A) True.
B) False.
Answer:
A) True.

You mean the 2023 class? Because certainly you can't expect him to make major waves with the '22 class. The die for 2022 has been cast for the most part. If he adds a couple of solid pieces great.
