Michigan alum Rich Eisen hates Notre Dame and takes great pleasure in trolling ND fans. After partially listening to Brian Kelly's press conference at LSU, Eisen noted this "for us Michigan fans to hear the all-time winningest coach of ND football saying he's going to a spot where he's going to win championships, where he wants to be on the Broadway stage, he wants the bright lights, he wants the best facilities, why not, live your best life Brian Kelly. Eisen also explained that Kelly wants to go where the spotlight is, then notes ND already has their own spotlight with NBC.

Eisen also noted in another daily segment that Kelly left to coach LSU for two reasons, money and he wants to win championships, noting that ND had to be perfect to be among the four teams, and SEC teams can lose one game yet still get two one-loss SEC teams in. Also that in the span that LSU played in four title games, ND has only played in one.

This clip is a riot, an epic troll of ND LINK

Notre Dame wouldn't have to be perfect if they beefed up their schedule. They are the ones scheduling 9 cupcakes a season.

Their schedule is 31 this seasons but in the recent past it has been 8-16. Not too damn shabby.

The part where he said Kelly essentially announced that ND is now a stepping stone job for LSU was the best!

ND schedule is an example of what having no FCS schools and playing average teams will do for you. Looking at '19

Louisville -- 8-5 -- W
New Mexico -- 2-10 -- W
Georgia -- 12-2 -- L
Virginia -- 9-5 -- W
Bowling Green -- 3-9 -- W
USC -- 8-5 -- W
Michigan -- 9-4 -- L
Va Tech -- 8-5 -- W
Duke -- 5-7 -- W
Navy -- 11-2 -- W
Boston College -- 6-7 -- W
Stanford -- 4-8 -- W

That's really not a bad schedule. The issue is beating a bunch of 8-5 teams doesn't feel that exciting, especially when you lose to the 2 best teams you play.

ND is ranked exactly where they should be. They are never overrated and they are never underrated. They beat who they should and they lose to who they should. Joining a conference would do them a lot of good, because it would give them the ability to play a team year in and year out, win a conference championship, and even some years knock off the top dog. You think if ND was in the ACC they wouldn't have beat Clemson once from 2014 to 2020? Of course they would have, and the general public would perceive them as an actual threat.

Right now, ND never rises to the occasion when they get a shot, and they play boring football because they can't get athletes with low GPAs into their school. If they want to remain independent and keep their standards, their football program will suffer for the foreseeable future.

Schedules are made many years in advance. Their schedule wasn’t expected to be as easy as it turned out to be...

Florida State
Purdue
Wisconsin
Cincinnati
Virginia Tech
USC
UNC
UVA
GaTech
Stanford

Navy/Toledo are pushovers but the rest are traditionally pretty solid programs.

I’m not a fan of ND, but they usually play a good schedule. It’s not their fault that USC, Stanford and Florida State all decided to implode.

Not really. Half of their schedule has to come from the ACC.

USC, Stanford, and Navy are also traditional matchups for them, so it's not ND's fault all three of those programs turned to dogshit at the same time.

They've played UGA and Michigan in recent years, and have Ohio State, BYU and A&M coming up. I don't understand why people act like ND plays New Mexico State and UMass every week.

I think Notre Dame missed a perfect opportunity to be the kingpin at the ACC when Coach Kelly strung together those last 5 seasons. ND could have been the Alabama of the ACC. Instead, they keep NBC and hopefully, Marcus Freeman turns the same trick as Brian Kelly. Good luck with that.

It's the exact reason the media has had a hard on for BK and LSU.

Plus Notre Dame is big time money. Make no mistake.

Whew...I'm not here to cause trouble okay. You got that right off the bat? I very much like LSU...very much. I'm an Oregon alum...coached and played at Fresno State (not football), Irish catholic and have many family members that have matriculated at Notre Dame. I do not know one ND person that is sad that Brian Kelly left ND. They are very happy that he is gone. Very happy.

I remember when Washington hired Ty Willingham after ND fired him. We tried to warn the Washington fans...they didn't listen to us. Ty went 0-12 after a few years...they understood then.

I know you are all excited with the BK hire...and I hope it works out for you. But I gotta tell ya...been watching him for twelve years now...good luck. Don't discount what ND folks are posting about him. Look past the bs.

As to my fondness for LSU...goes back to the Bert Jones days...I'm 69...met Ed O in Cabo in '04 or '05 when he was on the USC staff after they won the Natty...in Cabo at "The Office" on the beach if any of you know where that is...just a gracious guy...we talked about a Fresno kid that SC was recruiting then...saw why the kids loved him.

Good luck with BK...I've seen to much that think it will turn out well for him in the SEC. For your sakes I hope it goes otherwise.

P.S. I'm posting this because I've always liked LSU. Trying to give you fair warning...hope you have a better ride with BK.

I truly believe that Kelly’s move to LSU will be beneficial to both LSU and ND. You say, you don’t know one ND person that is sad, they’re very happy, so why all of the media’s venom is aimed at LSU? It’s just makes me more angrier at the media for coming after LSU.

They schedule games when teams are good and then if they play them when they aren’t, it hurts them. It is what it is when you’re not in a conference.

ND SOS by year:
2021 - 18
2020 - 7
2019 - 16
2018 - 13
2017 - 9
2016 - 38

Regardless of the small sample size of "people you know", many people are extremely but hurt by Kelly leaving. You can just peruse the message boards and experience the rancor to know this to be fact.

Can’t comment on Yahoo, they deny you the right to comment on their reports. We don’t need more of that nonsense for sure. Allow people to air their grievances.

If there was any doubt that Rich Eisen is a delightful human being, let this serve as the end of it.

It's nice to see someone in sports media speak plainly about the reality of the situation, even if he was doing it for selfish reasons.
