Anyone have an old school Winchester 67 single-shot 22?

I picked up one recently and have had a good time shooting it.

Love the walnut and blued steel. Less than 10 parts to the rifle and it can be taken down using just a penny coin. Pretty darn accurate, too.

I have one, I need to re-blue it, though.

A family friend gave it to me when I was about 11. He had no sons and wanted me to have it. I’ll pass it down to one of my sons.

I agree… it is very accurate and such a great one for learning.

Yessir, sure do. Wish it would eject spent rounds without me having to dig them out…

Yep..... my 67A is in mint condition and belonged to my great grandfather. It's what I learned to shoot with.

Mine ejects well. Are you working the bolt with authority?

Is that the one with the safety that sort of rotates around the bolt?

Yes. When the bolt is pulled back and cocked, then the safety can be moved straight up to be on safe. Turning the safe back down to the right would again put you in the "fire" position. The Win 67 is a very simple, utility type rifle.

I have one I got when an uncle passed away. I've never even fired it, but I put a round in it and it wouldn't eject. It's also in pretty rough shape, cosmetically. It looks like all the bluing was gone decades ago and the stock has been around the block too. But, this reminds me that I should get it out, clean it up, and see what it will do.

I'd love to hear the angle of the downvote pirate on this very neutral thread. lol.

I mean, seriously, what is the negative on an old, simple, classic .22 rifle?

For the record, have never had issues with ejection on mine.
Conversely we've got this ruger .22 that I don't think I have ever fired more than 3 shots without it jamming.

My brother and I learned on a bolt action breech feed Stevens .22. Maybe model 15. The one with the "plunger" safety you pulled back and turned. BTW, that safety failed once when we were walking side x side on an old logging road. Luckily we always pointed the gun in a safe direction, as taught.

Don't have that one but I have my dad's old Remington Model 33, single-shot bolt actions .22. I learned to shoot on that rifle.

Great fun has been had shooting that rifle. Great memories of time spent with my dad and that rifle.
