If he did what they said he did then the answer is neither. He's a villain and will (justly) be thrown in prison for a very long time.

I too am angry that we are heavily involved with the war in Ukraine. I don't think it's our war or our business. However, this soldier was granted a TS clearance under the solemn oath that he wouldn't improperly disclose classified information. Whistleblower laws don't protect someone who uploads screenshots of SCI data onto Discord.

Yeah it does seem really suspicious that someone of that level had such easy access to sensitive material like that.

Not sure why anyone would suddenly start believing anything from our Government under Biden is truthful. Kind of hoping it is though because this guy is fricking HERO .

He didn’t do it for any ideology and didn’t mean for it to go viral. He’s just an idiot.

Neither government nor media has any credibility.

Anyone whose ever enlisted and worked in intelligence probably had a clearance in their early 20s. This isn't new, stop trying to make this a goddamn conspiracy.

This was a dumbass airman who wanted to brag to his buddies.

This. Not executing Manning was a failure, and only encourages this stuff. This dude needs to hit the firing squad.

You can have your own opinions, but you don't *ever* put Americans or even allies you don't like at risk through disclosures (ie violations of OpSec.)

As an infosec bro, I wonder why he even had access to material like this to begin with being in the Air Guard. SCI is supposed to stand for "compartmented" information, which he shouldn't have had a valid need to even have access to given his role.

Posting this again because it seems very interesting.

Larry Johnson was on with Judge Napolitano today...he's calling BS. He says this whole story is a fabrication.

I'll try to condense his position.

- Bellingcat is a British intel group and they were the first to produce this story of the young kid, Discord etc.
- Same day, WAPO and at least one other platform picks up the same narrative.
- This is an indicator of coordination.
- Larry says there was one document in the leaked mix that was unique and gave all of this away: it was a document from the CIA that is never circulated outside of the CIA, yet the story is that this guy accessed everything on a military installation.
- Judge asks, 'who could be behind all this?'
- Larry says it would be tied to the ODNI, because that is the one place where CIA, DoD, FBI et al materials can be consolidated.
- Larry said narrative made sense until he saw that CIA document.
- Larry says this info was leaked in order to prepare the US public for the 'crash landing' of US foreign policy, so it came from the top echelon in our govt.
- From interview with Tony Shaffer: Another indicator here is that the FBI is doing the investigation, and they are not honest and will do what they're told and report what they're told to report. When you see FBI, think White House. Larry puts some qualifiers on this, but says all the big players will be involved.
- Larry says not to think of this as a whistleblower leak, it's an intelligence operation.
- Another indicator is that part of the story is that there are 300 more documents out there, yet they can't be found anywhere.
- Another indicator is the narrative is about young, white kid, gamer, right wing, gun nut etc etc.
- Larry says the kid in the interview that WAPO posted is clearly an actor, and asks, 'how do you think they found these kids so quickly?'.
- Larry returns to the one CIA specific document as being very important in understanding that this whole story is nonsense.
- Larry also says it's not reasonable to assume that such a young kid would have access to these items.

I didn't hear about the boots on the ground thing. It doesn't surprise me, though. I assumed we had Spec Ops people on the ground from the beginning.

But I think "DC_Draino" is wrong about Congressional approval. The President doesn't need it. This has been rehashed since at least Reagan.

If something like this happened back in 1776, the USA of today would be the equivalent of British from that time.

You don’t think the insurrection by the patriots broke British law? You don’t win vs a corrupt gov’t playing by their rules.

This here is the problem. You're being a bootlicking rule Nazi for an illegal regime.

Sometimes you need to break a rule in order to save lives

Rahab did so and she was considered righteous.

How much more so would this guy be if he sacrificed his life to save millions

For all we know this could have put even more lives at risk. We have no idea the methodology that was used to gather this information nor the sources involved. This information being out in the open could put both of those things at risk.

I realize you're too blinded by the politics of the three-letter agencies to see the smaller picture, but there are true blue Americans out in the field who genuinely love their country who are responsible for gathering this information. Some of them put their lives on the line every day. This leak could have put those lives at risk.

I saw a shite ton of TS/TK/SCI and Eyes Only shite before I was 20. Late at night it’s the lower ranking guys who have to go in and handle shite the Sr NCOs don’t want to get out of bed for.

I guess our corrupt gov’t shouldn’t be getting into shite that’s not our business and putting our citizens in harms way??

Maybe not. But guess what: we're in that shite. And like it or not, we will remain in that shite until otherwise directed because that's what we do. And so long as we're in the shite, I will definitely wish death upon the men and women who put my friends at risk. I don't care if they're American or foreigners.
