Did Trump and Haley make a deal?

She said she would not run against him ... now she is. He did not call her "disloyal" like he did DeSantis. Her getting in the race does nothing but help Trump. Sounds like she may trying a 2nd time to be Vice President.

Everyone, including Haley, knows she has no shot at winning the nom.

Trump choosing Haley, would be a slap in our faces.

Haley has no chance to win so he doesn’t care enough to pay attention to her

BuckyCheese ... exactly right. So, one could conclude that she is running for VP. She takes votes away from DeSantis. Some will suggest no way Trump would pick her, but if he gets the nomination, he'll pick someone who he thinks may help him.
We'll know for sure ...if she stays in the race long.

She’s likely running for the same reason most run— trying raise their profile so they can raise more money from overfunded globalist power brokers

If she drops out real early, I might buy into that. Otherwise, I'll stick with what my post suggested. I think DeSantis would pick Noem way before Haley.

My version of what happened believe it--or not...
When Nikki got in various news articles show that Pompeo, Pence, all were ready to jump in. With Ron coming in late or early summertime.
It was reported and verified reporting that Nikki called Trump and said she wanted to run. He appreciated her honestly and notification and gave his blessing.
Paul Ryan had a public hissy fit saying if they all jump in Trump will win. So it was stopped.
At TheHilldotcom it was said the establishment GOP were very nervous and wanted Ron pushed out more.
Trump did a Q&A AMA at his Iowa rally and someone said they wanted Gowdy as VP. Trump said interesting. He almost was going to say that they have someone already in mind but stopped.
He may pick Nikki as cabinet but I doubt VP. But she showed him respect and called him. So what could he do but give his blessing?

Gov. Reynolds of Iowa would have a good shot at it

It's a tryout for a VP nomination.

Lord have mercy, I did not know Paul Ryan had that much political power today.
He could have told her "that would be disloyal, you need to wait until 2028".

Well Kamala parlayed her candidacy into a VPresidency. It works.

If you don’t think Trump already has his VP picked out and that person already knows you a damn fool

This has been brought up before but a Haley bid cut the political pie even more.
Trump has his 35-40% and that is not going to change, so the thing is who gets the most of the other 60%. Haley in the race may be able to poll at 5-6% which would probably keep those numbers from Desantis.
Haley might get 10-12% in South Carolina which is an early state to show momentum.
