So, two of my all-time favorite movies are Young Guns and Young Guns II. Some may label them as Brat Pack flicks without much substance, but I feel like they are great movies. Emilio Estevez was electric as Billy the Kid. His portrayal was multi-faceted in that he could pull off a humorous take on the character cracking jokes, or the opposite end, a stone faced killer, cold as ice.

They may not be regarded in the same category of Westerns as, say, John Wayne or Clint Eastwood Westerns. They were the 80’s take on a Western, and I personally liked it. The 2nd movie had a killer soundtrack by Jon Bon Jovi.

Thoughts?

Young Guns is a personal favorite. No real affinity for the sequel.

I love Westerns. I definitely wouldn’t put the Young Guns movies in any top Western list, but they were very entertaining movies. I will always watch them if they are on tv. The cast fit really well together. Also, frick Pat Garrett.

I enjoyed them both as a kid. There’s a 3rd film that’s supposed to be in development.

I remember seeing the second one in theaters and thinking I was in the wrong movie at the beginning with the 1930s cars.

Estevez laughs way too much.

Other than that they're enjoyable movies.

I love them both. I think the 1st one is probably the objectively better movie, but I like the 2nd one more. “I’ll make you famous” is one of my favorite character catch phrases of all time, and I love the “Blaze of Glory” theme throughout.

Blaze of Glory is probably the most underrated song specifically written for a movie IMO

Blaze of glory is one of my favorites.

And.. I don't think it's been in any of the soundtracks (too lazy to look up)

But I consider Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi part of the Young Guns movies as well

When the Spirit Horse came to get Chavez y Chavez, I wept. So, yeah, I've got my scars.

Not sure if it is quality or nostalgia but I love them both.

A lot of nostalgia. Not great films by any means but a lot of fun, especially the second one which is told as Brushy Bill Roberts telling the true story of Billy The Kid.

They second one in particular is a lot better than it really has any right to be.
