Damn, maybe they shouldn't have it so accessible at that age.

quote:

A Moon Township mother has a warning for every parent out there about hand sanitizer. She says what happened to her young daughter was a nightmare that no other parent should ever have to endure.
quote:

The little girl set up her desk with pencils and supplies including a fresh bottle of hand sanitizer, which was on the list of school supplies for the kindergarten class.
quote:

By lunch, the 5-year-old girl had collapsed.
quote:

Hours later, at the hospital, the little girl came to, but mom still had no answers as to what happened, until the school called again.
quote:

“This class, each student has their own sanitizer pump bottle at their desk with their name on it for their personal use,” the mother said. “My daughter had consumed half of that bottle. She consumed 6 ounces of 70% alcohol.”
quote:

Her blood-alcohol level was .23.

disclaimer: my only experience with 5 year olds is when I was one

I would have been more concerned with them squirting it all over the place and making a mess or even getting it in their eyes. It wouldn't have occurred to me that they would eat it because of the yucky taste. That's so freakin' sad.

We had Elmer's glue. Always had one who would eat it.

Having hand sanitizer for these little germ factories isn't a bad idea but HTF do the adults not supervise 5 year old's?

Sound's like this school is on par with the public education system in this country.

That’s the alcohol equivalent of tasking 7 shots at a bar. That kid was LIT!

There must be something developmentally wrong with this little girl.

My daughter was in Kindergarten last year and there’s no way she drinks half a bottle of GermX, 1) after tasting it and 2) after being told it’s not to be drank.

No?

Sharing mostly innocuous germs is how immune systems are built.

Our immune systems are shite because we have sanitized the frick out of them.

Easy access to sanitizer at such a young age is a bad idea.

Note: this doesn't apply to places like hospitals where people bring the ugly and rarer germs.

There is always an appropriate Office gif to reference for every scenario on earth. Meredith, you’re up.
