80s children what was the first cassette tape you bought yourself

Grandmother took me to the Wal-Mart in Boaz,Al to buy it in 1988.
She didn't like the looks of it, but said it was my money. Then, let me play it on the way home and literally swerved into the other lane trying to get it out of her tape deck.
Let me keep it though, even though she didn't like it one bit.
Growing up in the 80s was the shite!

I had an older brother so I had a lot of mixed tapes. Poison was actually the first concert I ever went to.. I was in 5th grade..
But I think Beastie Boys License to Ill might have been the first tape I had for myself.

I guess more early 90s, but it was the red DJ Jubilee tape and Sepultura-Arise, probably from The Mushroom Uptown.
