Starting chemo treatment on Monday

Cliffs - diagnosed with testicular cancer in early feb. Had a stint implanted from my kidney to bladder because a lymph node was pressing against the kidney, had the orchiectomy (r.i.p. rightie), multiple ct scans, a pet scan, a port implanted in my left shoulder. My body feels like i've been in multiple car wrecks in a short amount of time - I took a paid (hooray!) leave of absence from work to fight this crap off and my doc seems to be pretty optimistic about my chances.
So I'm just wondering what side effects people have had here with the chemo. I've been given a whole smorgasbord of possibles, but from what I've gathered the common ones are hair loss, nausea/rrhea, and weight loss. I've been recommended to go to an ear doc to get a baseline hearing test in case if that's affected - that kinda threw me for a loop. I've also been told to anticipate changes in taste, but to constantly chug water to relieve stress on the kidneys during treatments.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Numbness and tingling in the hands and feet is another one, as well as having nails loosen or fall off.

Thoughts & prayers Horsemeat. This is one of those trips that I used to say, why bother checking the weather, cause we’re goin’ anyway. Take it one day at a time and know it only last so long.

Good luck!
I had my own fight with cancer a few years ago and underwent 4 months of chemo. I dealt with those side effects as well as pretty severe fatigue. The nausea was manageable for the most part due to the extra medication that they gave me. Typically, the side effects get progressively worse as treatments go along. Stay strong. You’ll win the fight.

Testicular cancer has very high cure rate, especially if caught early(close to 99%).One of my cousins had it 30 years ago,he tried to ignore it and it metastasized to his liver. He was still cured and has done well ever since.
Good luck to you.

I wish you the best during the coming months and my prayers for you. I’ve never fought the monster personally, but it seems to be prevalent in my family.
I’m as far from a doctor as they come, but I know that some of the people in my family used THC (edibles, sativa 5mg) and they claimed it worked wonders for their nausea and fatigue.
God bless, kick its arse!

Mom is currently undergoing chemo for breast cancer and one thing that was kind of unexpected was trembling/shivering. Her balance can be off because of it. The nausea has been relatively controllable with the medication and while there are days she can't eat there are days she wakes up and feels good enough to basically eat her arse off so her weight has stayed stable. She's been going every 2 weeks and usually the 2-3 days before the next treatment she can eat so pack it in when you can. Stay strong brother
ETA, also the low white blood cell count. Mom got a chest infection immediately because of the lowered immunity so vitamin c, zinc, and steer clear of whoever you can
