I'm pretty messed up right now. What started out as just another hot June day, ended up being one of the saddest days of my life. This might be long, sorry, but I just want to get this off my chest I guess.
Be me, just chilling, catching up on some GoT, and hear a bunch of commotion outside. My street is pretty quiet so the rare times you hear people yelling, the curiosity becomes overwhelming and you want to see what the fuss is about.
Two guys fighting in a car, don't know why, but I know one pretty well, and didn't really know the other guy. Regardless, I felt like I needed to try to diffuse the situation. I get downstairs and the guy I know is cocking a pistol. I call his name and say hey man chill tf out, calm down, dont do it...
Guy in the car tries to drive off, but a single shot is fired. His car continues accelerating forward, and I watch this guys car blast through our complex fence into a nearby dumpster. It was like something straight out of a movie the way that fence exploded.
I'm the first guy to run to him. He's calling his mother telling him he was shot. Drops the phone and just starts crying and praying, reaching for my hand to hold. I'm trying to comfort the guy while trying to see where he was hit to try to help out. Yell for people to call 911 and bring towels, gauze, whatever. Find the wound, it's in his back somewhere around his left shoulder blade area.
Then his gf comes, who I find out later is 7mos pregnant with his child, will be his 2nd child with her. Me and another guy takes him out of the car because he's slipping away..I start doing CPR, just trying to do anything I remember from being a medic 8 yrs ago.
He wasn't pronounced dead until later, but I had a feeling it was over before the EMT's started working on him. Felt his pulse slipping away and the compressions weren't doing much after the awhile.
I watched this guy die in middle of the road with his gf holding his head, with his 5-6 yr son being distracted by others so he wouldn't see what was happening.
Like I said I didn't really know this guy, or what the situation was. But I know there's 2 kids without a father now and it breaks my heart. You hear about things like this almost daily, but being there and watching it unfold...man.
I gave my all for that guy, but it didn't save him. It didn't hit me until I sat down in my home after everyone left.
Again, sorry for this long arse dear facebook post. TD is my home on the web and I just wanted to vent or talk about it to feel some kind of relief.

So the guy you know that shot him was always a POS?
Why did he shoot him?

That's terrible. But it sounds like you did all you could. Just a bad situation all around.

You need to speak with a professional if you were in the service theyre pretty quick these days about getting you someone to talk to, or your Chruch or even ask the sheriff's office to recommend someone you can talk to

I’m not even sure I would have been able to do what you did.
At least you did something, besides video it.
Might help to talk to someone...on a professional level. That shite ain’t going away.

Possibly so. I couldn't say if either of them were involved in that, but it's likely considering the situation. The guy i knew, I just knew him from random sports talk or we'd watch a random football game and drink some beer, shoot the shite. The guy who passed, I would just say hey to him if I saw him as I was leaving or something. Nothing special. It's a mixture of older and younger people here so you never know.

So, how did you like the play, Mrs. Linkin?
